Concordia temperatures -

Saturday a high of -27C and Sunday a high of -26C.

Terra Nova did have a high of +7C which can be explained bu fohn winds.

But now all you have to do is decide what is what "normal" is.

"Eastern Antarctica has recorded exceptionally high temperatures this week, more than 30 degrees Celsius above normal, say experts."

Uhuh. Moist air off Australia's southeast coast being dragged down to the coastline of Antarctica where it falls as rain. That cloud cover would have been enough to blanket the region and trap the warm, moist air. And that water will cause a bit of ice melt runoff, where it will freeze to an expanded icesheet.

Prepare yourself for a cold winter, Brian. Recent rainfall (with a forecast of more to come for eastern Australia) and the expanded ice sheet in Antarctica over the next few months will lead to a frosty June and July. Maybe an early winter by May.

Does CO2 solidify in Antarctica?

-57 C is the boiling point of CO2. The freezing point of CO2 at atmospheric pressure is -78.5 C (-109.3 F). If the temperature reaches -113 F at Vostok,
Antarctica, some carbon dioxide might freeze out of the air, assuming that the carbon dioxide vapor pressure drops to its saturation vapor pressure.

Actually it collapsed before the heatwave.

"It is too soon to say what triggered the collapse of the Conger ice shelf, but it appears unlikely to have been caused by melting at the surface – there are no indications of any ponds atop the ice shelf. The most recent sequence of events also preceded the record high air temperatures recorded in Antarctica on March 18. "
