Nice to see the left competing in conspiracy theory if this is what is.

Now we need to see this repeated about 1,000 times to match the right's many many conspiracies.

Is the claim wrong ? I don't know.

It is nice however to think that the left may possibly finally have someone as naïve or nutty as the average righty.

When someone's blood test shows them to have a high cholesterol level, their doctor (usually) immediately prescribes them statins.

That's crazy.

They should first give the patient a referral to have a coronary calcium score test done.

If their score is low - usually under 100 - statins are often quite useless.

I have high blood pressure, and my doctor immediately prescribed statins.

I told her to stick them up her arse.

Instead, I went and had my coronary calcium score test done and my score is zero.

Someone in their 50s with a score of zero and no other heart risk factors doesn't needs to be on statins.

Here, educate yourself a bit:

UnSub: if your GP has prescribed statins, ask them for a coronary calcium heart score test before you go down that path - they are the most prescribed drug in the world and in many cases are completely useless.

SH1t a brick Groggy 🥴  You've just admitted that you don't like doctors or the medications they prescribe. And what's more you believe you know better than they do. Because you GOOGLE some US site instead 😳

I might bookmark this particular page too
😂🤣😆

I think I will listen to my doctor over what members here say. The worst I have experienced recently is some back pain from heavy lifting. Apart from that, my life is in order. My age is 43 and I am not close to peak fitness. But, I would be about a month away from fighting weight.

Yessssss!!!

Do not I repeat do not listen to a morbidly obese unhinged multi nutter like Groggy who has lived a sedentary cyber junkie life for at least 15 years!

I've shown his posts to my cousin overnight who is a fully qualified GP and he's gobsmacked that his post is even allowed to stand.

It's dangerous advice merely based on a google search. The other thing is that EVERY person has a unique and different medical HISTORY. Please for the love of God ignore the dhead and be fully guided by your usual medical practitioner.

The scan vs statin googled BS Groggy has dished up for you is in fact not valid in itself and requires the specific context of an individual's age and personal medical history.

Bottom Line? Ignore Groggy and ALL his multi nutter ids which pathetically rush into topics to make him look sane after he's been pwned.

Don't listen to anyone EXCEPT your doctor who knows you personally. And take his/her QUALIFIED advice AND MEDICATIONS!

I bought asparagus the other day but just to eat.

What does it do for your health or does it fix conspiracies ?

Pancetta wrapped around asparagus and put into a 180°C oven for 15 minutes is a delicious way to eat asparagus. The stalks are cooked but still crispl

Hi Lisa,
on some forums it's actually a rule that you can't ask for
or give out medical advice.
The rule says to seek advice from your registered medical practitioner.

I'll give the same advice again:

Ask for a coronary calcium heart score test.

Based on experience and discussions with a cardiologist, not Google.

Ask for a coronary calcium heart score test.

Ask for a coronary calcium heart score test.

Financial, Medical or Legal advice

Whirlpool is a website with a broad topic coverage. However, when it comes to financial, medical and legal advice, it's always recommended to seek advice from a qualified professional, rather than asking random strangers on the internet.

In particular, posts that put the site or users at risk due to the unqualified nature of the advice may be removed. In some instances, providing unlicensed professional advice can be illegal, for example, share trading advice.

For any immediate concerns of personal harm or injury those users should be encouraged to refer to the WP Mental Health Support page to contact qualified professionals
Topics to avoid

    share trading advice
legal advice regarding actual or potential legal action where the post may be sub judice
    complex medical or taxation advice

Posts/topics considered to be outside of the scope of Whirlpool, or do not comply with other rules, may be removed at the sole discretion of Whirlpool.
Proceed with caution

Misinformation or bad advice can cause financial, legal or medical harm. Therefore, users are encouraged to seek their own professional independent advice before making significant decisions based on what they read on Whirlpool.

Greggy,

At no stage have I ever suggested he take statins - I wouldn't take them if you paid me, so there's no way I would tell anyone else to take them.

And, I didn't tell him to take calcium either ...

FFS, you really are the thickest, most ignorant and poorly-educated person I have ever encountered in my entire life.

When someone's blood test shows them to have a high cholesterol level, their doctor (usually) immediately prescribes them statins.

That's crazy.

100% correct: at no stage have I ever suggested he take statins.  And, I didn't tell him to take calcium either.

Ask your doctor for a coronary calcium heart score test.

A coronary artery calcium score can be used following a Heart Health Check to estimate your risk of heart attack.

I'm sorry Lisa, you, and Sir lastnail don't have half a brain between you.

I have never advised anyone to take statins. Never, ever.

I'll pass on this good advice every day though:

Ask your doctor for a coronary calcium heart score test.

A coronary artery calcium score can be used following a Heart Health Check to estimate your risk of heart attack.
