Someone said we could not judge a person's Aboriginality on their skin colour.  Why isn't that applied in the matter of Pascoe?  Tsk, tsk, tsk...   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

If we are going to halt global warming due to greenhouse gases created by coal, oil and gas, we have to consider nuclear power. Not ideal, but a lot better than fossil fuel.

For now, I think we might just take advantage of the coal shortage on the market and rake in the money.

It actually is ideal. New reactor designs produce practically no waste and are incredibly safe.

Here's a question for you.

What is responsible for more deaths.
The radiation from the Fukushima disaster, or Alec Baldwin?

I've heard all the arguments, for and against. If anyone comes up with a new one, I'll listen. The usual suspects will not.

What is the equivalent in those windmills and solar panels for that much reliable electricity?

A huge benefit with nuclear power is it runs flat out for fuel cycle you can't throttle it back which means you get cheap off peak power to encourage people to use it.

People will be using off peak power to recharge vehicles at night when the wind doesn't blow and solar is useless.

People can use electric heating/air con at night instead of buring gas to stay warm.

Nonsense -
the control rods are put part way in to slow the reaction down -
that also uses less fuel.   Roll Eyes
