Let me guess, he's a Brylcreme Boy, rather than a member of the Army or the Senior Service?  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Your principle attitude of resentment and unabating rancour is once again in full, glaring display, you poncy git.
You are resentful even towards those currenty in the ADF.

The only person showing any resentment is yourself, Soren.  A "Brylcreme Boy" is a term of endearment, compared to what I could have called him.  So, which service is it?  I bet he's glad to be out from under your thumb.  12 months is barely long enough to learn how to do "Hospital corners", learn how to shine his boots and brass and how to do up his trousers properly.  I wish him luck in what ever he does, as long as he forgets all the bullshit he learnt at your knee.  Tsk, tsk, tsk...  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Fuck off, poncy half-wit.

Well, you only see peas, ducky. Hardly a yardstick for anything.

Except for other ducks.

The End of Citizenship
Having converted their own republic into a borderless credit union, Americans have to borrow other people’s national pride
BY

MARCH 28, 2022
In the spring of 2022, speculation in the commentariat that partisan rivalries were bringing the United States to the verge of actual civil war abruptly came to an end. With few exceptions, Americans of left, right, and center rallied around the national colors. Postmodern multiculturalism and anti-Enlightenment paleoconservatism suddenly were marginalized by romantic nationalism of the 19th-century variety. As war fever swept America, progressives and conservatives joined in denouncing not only the enemy government but also the enemy people and their enemy music, enemy literature, and enemy cuisine. Americans displayed the national flag in every imaginable form and pledged undying hatred of the nation’s foes.

The nation that Americans celebrated was not their own, but rather Ukraine, following the brutal Russian invasion of the former Soviet republic. Liberal Americans who would have thought it vulgar if not fascist to wave the Stars and Stripes took selfies with the blue and gold of Ukraine’s national flag. Democrats and Republicans who routinely demonize the leaders of the rival American party engaged in a kind of sentimental, uncritical hero worship of Ukraine’s president, Volodomyr Zelensky, which would have been mocked had its object been Joe Biden or Donald Trump. Neoconservatives and centrist liberals used the Ukraine war as an opportunity to settle scores by accusing opponents in the rival party and rivals in their own parties of moral if not legal treason for less than total and uncritical support of a foreign country with which the United States does not even have an alliance.

An interesting observation. If people show as much support for their own country, culture, history, language as they show for Ukraine they are denounced as extreme far right fascists.

Good point!

Absolute hypocrisy and yet another example of left woke contradiction in action. 😐

I don't think the other side is supporting Russia.
If anything, they condemn Russia.
They don't think NATO and the US are innocent even if Putin is a f***head monster, which he is.

Anyway, it is a very cost effective way to degrade Russia's economy and military while letting China watch.

Putin is not a one-off monster arising from unique conditions.

He's the 'Tsar' the Russians want and expect in accordance with their cultural archetype - the strongman, who rises to rescue Russia from smuta (times of troubles) which, for Russians, occur in historical cycles.

If Putin falls, it will not be the end of the Russian strongman - another one, more brutal and ruthless, will take his place

I find these lists a bit of a paid-for farce.
Much like those "Best city to live in" rankings which are all paid for.

Considering Finland was considered the most 'depressed' nation with it's high suicide rate (is it still high or has that miraculously dissapeared too?) for ages and then suddenly in the last 5 years has become the Happiest Nation on the planet. Sounds like Tourism $$$ promo more like it.

Love Finland - but its really an Aged Care Facility.

I'm not sure why your rabid right-wing mindset dominates nearly every
comment you post here, but you'll find—at least here in Australia—that the
social, financial, political, and environmental problems that concern the left
wing concern the right wing in equal amounts.

Your silly efforts to create a vituperative them-and-us scenario is without
merit, and can easily be dismissed as the mindless ramblings of a political
incompetent.

The Democrats are not successfully running America.
They're only running their own 'Media' show... oh, and the Ukraine.
