Having converted their own republic into a borderless credit union, Americans have to borrow other people’s national pride

In the spring of 2022, speculation in the commentariat that partisan rivalries were bringing the United States to the verge of actual civil war abruptly came to an end. With few exceptions, Americans of left, right, and center rallied around the national colors. Postmodern multiculturalism and anti-Enlightenment paleoconservatism suddenly were marginalized by romantic nationalism of the 19th-century variety. As war fever swept America, progressives and conservatives joined in denouncing not only the enemy government but also the enemy people and their enemy music, enemy literature, and enemy cuisine. Americans displayed the national flag in every imaginable form and pledged undying hatred of the nation’s foes.

The nation that Americans celebrated was not their own, but rather Ukraine, following the brutal Russian invasion of the former Soviet republic. Liberal Americans who would have thought it vulgar if not fascist to wave the Stars and Stripes took selfies with the blue and gold of Ukraine’s national flag. Democrats and Republicans who routinely demonize the leaders of the rival American party engaged in a kind of sentimental, uncritical hero worship of Ukraine’s president, Volodomyr Zelensky, which would have been mocked had its object been Joe Biden or Donald Trump. Neoconservatives and centrist liberals used the Ukraine war as an opportunity to settle scores by accusing opponents in the rival party and rivals in their own parties of moral if not legal treason for less than total and uncritical support of a foreign country with which the United States does not even have an alliance.

An interesting observation. If people show as much support for their own country, culture, history, language as they show for Ukraine they are denounced as extreme far right fascists.

most democrats are probably not doing well in life.

they bounce out of bed and what is their purpose?

without purpose, they drift into their own heads and most peoples heads are full of negative emotions and self - attack.

if you run a business or work on a farm or are a tradie, your mind is occupied all day.

but the leftie is "stuck in his head"

it tends to lead to self loathing

and people who feel unworthy will attack anything that is positive and creative and joyful because they cant vibe with that.

you have to feel sympathy for lefties.

they seem to want to create some sort of heaven on earth and the obvious conclusion is that they must believe they are currently living in hell.

they have to manufacture problems and manufacture enemies to maintain their own emotional equilibrium.

i call this "chode purgatory" and its where most lefties reside.

we can mentor them but , as every farmer knows
you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink

What is their purpose?
To be the opposition of those evil Redneck Grey Southerners - the Rebel Confederates.
...but those Confederates are long gone and the Blue North Democrat 'Yankees' are feeling lost and without purpose.
They try desperately to put Trump and the Red (East) Republicans into the Grey South Confederacy shoebox - but it just doesn't fit.
The Democrats have no justification to exist anymore in a modern world. The sley their Grey Southern brother domestically in a Civil War, but they are failing dismally Internationally for America. Try as they might, even an 'amateur' from outside of the industry in Trump has made them look bad. No point in blaming Trump because he exposed their weakness.

The Democrats will soon hang by their own accord.

there is no extra pay for excellence (its a socialist level playing field) and so they get a bit bitter, feel like they are victims, tend to vent about their patients or students
this fuels a downward spiral

a machine operator like a bob cat driver or earthmoving operator has autonomy and can see he is making cash and is his own boss.
this fuels and upward spiral

a bus driver for the counsil is likely to be in victim mentality
a victim of the traffic, a victim of the red lights, a victim of the unruly students
this fuels a downward spiral

running a great business is like being in a great relationship.
its challenging but rewarding

settling for a lame job where you are just a battery in the mattrix is like settling for a chode partner. its safe and theres not much challenge but you end up spinning your wheels and in purgatory

you always want to take on as much responsibility and as much challenge as you can

personal responsibility.

you will be far happier in your own business then working for a pay cheque.
your own business means you have to lay awake at night and learn to handle your anxieties and fears, how to live in chaos, how to deal with uncertainty

thats where all the growth is

and we are on this planet to grow, not to exist and linger

Attitude is all important in such an environment , of course; I have met contented bus drivers. And the grunt work still needs to be done.
