Parliament just wiped out the bulk of the minor parties - that's not a democracy anyone can be proud of, it's just following Putin's "democracy" and tactics

Compulsory voting forfeits the "right" to vote and voting becomes an order from the top, just like an order to troops from a General ... there's no say in the matter, and punishment can be imposed

The major parties help themselves to $22million each, of taxpayers money from the AEC after every election

If your vote doesn't help to get a candidate elected, your vote loses 100% of it's value and is discarded into the "trash bin"

We need a better democracy than we've got now - one that's democratic
