90% of black Africans are within the boundaries of the big cities, Sydney and Melbourne mostly. Your use of "poor outlying ares" could mean any place in Australia, if we're not so poor now, we will be pretty soon

We have a continent that is mostly desert or grasslands. We members of OzPol have debated about how to make the inland regions of Australia's water resources secure. You are welcome to add your views on that topic in the forum relevant.

Had Australia an inland river system as extensive as that of the United States, it is likely that we would be a nation of about 100 million people by now. There is not a great amount of space left to expand the cities. Better to expand the towns and regional centres. Decentralise the economy so that industries around the country can get the workers to produce what we need to use and export.

Saving refugees is one thing. Allowing refugees to come into Australia without putting a cap on numbers is just something that would encourage illegal immigrants to try to do in future to circumvent the immigration protocols of Australia. As for your white immigrants coming to Australia comment, pfft! The majority of immigrants to Australia are no longer white. It has been that way for some time.

No one is suggesting no cap on numbers. We're suggesting the current caps are too small. No cap would change the refugee determination process which is onerous if anything.

The last stats I saw said different but perhaps India has caught up. I am certainly feeling like a diversity hire where I work, most people are not white. Not that I care, but it's an observation. I suspect the lockdowns caused my income to explode
