A fine argument for a jury being able to overturn an agreed plea...... if twelve good people and true can see wrong being done they should be able to stand up and say NO! Not perfect, of course, but courts never are.

Reading up on Boston pre US War of Independence... most 'justice' was mobs of the locals... for right and wrong.....

The victim, a 47-year-old man, had just paid for petrol and was unlocking his car at a service station on Main Road East in St Albans about 11.15pm on April 26.

I have been in a situation where 3 people have taken me on in a fight - cos I was in dey neighbour-hood - and I managed to fight them off. Admittedly, I was quite fit at the time, and had fight experience. The assailants were just lousy fighters because they fought like dogs -- all show and only when you were not looking did they try to attack. Another occasion, it was 2 guys against me. On this occasion, they were both trying to fight me at once. So, I had to take some hits as I had to fight off one to then focus on the other. Just won that battle.

These days, given my self-inflicted health problems, I would rather avoid fights in case I end up in similar situations where I would likely get whooped pretty badly.
