Flu
May 24th, 2022 at 6:38pm

Everyone in the family has had one except me, I was supposed to get it today but I'm at home with a sick kid...probably flu!!!!!!! He was done on Saturday so no time for it to kick in.

The GP said it's hitting kids WAY WAY worse than covid.

I should have stocked up on lemon juice. A couple lemon juice and water per day would either prevent the onset or really help cure the influenza virus quite quickly.

But I had a temp of 38.2 C - that's quite high.
I also went through 300 tissues in one day -
I was so crook.

Flu Vaccination Side Effects

We understand Flu

Flu shots side effects (if any) tend to be mild, and if you develop flu-like symptoms, its effects are expected to be weaker than getting the "live" version of the virus. Some reactions to the flu vaccine may include:

General malaise, or feeling "under the weather."
        Nausea
        Muscle aches
Localised swelling, sore arm, itchiness or redness
        Feeling tired
        Headache
        Fever

Reactions to the flu shot should clear up by themselves within two to three days.

More likely than not, you coincidently got the flu or a cold, there's heaps of it going around.

It's impossible to be 100% certain.

Mum and Dad got their flu shot some years ago. They said that they got influenza anyway. They do not bother with getting the vaccine these days.

Old people have lowered immune responses. Mum and Dad hardly got sick when myself and my siblings were growing up in that household. And when they did, they usually caught it from us children who were sick with some sort of cold twice a year. I got into adulthood and would only get sick on occasion. Now, Mum and (especially) Dad have to be careful about how they take care of themselves.

I have no doubt that is true, yet they don't understand how vaccines work

My mother is a (recently retired) nurse. She is very good with medicine. I would say that she keeps getting influenza vaccines every year. Dad is stubborn. It is difficult for Mum to get him to change his habits. I get the feeling that Dad has given up on life a few years after retiring from work.
