You can catch covid whether you are vaccinated or not. Covid vaccinations do not form some sort of magical invisible force field that prevents covid viruses from getting into your body. The point of the vaccination is to prepare your immune system to fight off covid much easier than not being vaccinated. Lately, people who have caught covid have said that they are over the main symptoms in a few days. Before vaccinations, people were sick from up to 2 weeks and beyond. Most people can be asymptomatic. However, even in those situations, a vaccinated asymptomatic covid carrier would be over covid in very little time. Unvaccinated, asymptomatic covid carriers would carry the virus for a lot longer and spread to more people.

So what's the point of it then ?? Cheesy

The vaccination only has to work "a little bit" to be a success. Imagine if we lock down for a while and then opened up without a vaccine. We would have a lot more dead or in hospital for a longer stint with a virus.

I spent the last 27 months with knowledge of the virus. And we did without cinemas and restaurants for a few months, because we did not have an international airport in our town. So, in the time that the international borders were open, we did not have to put up with the virus until lockdowns were finished. By that time, 90% of the town had been vaccinated. Otherwise, our hospitals would have been overwhelmed with covid patients.
