So, the US is number 2 with a bullet.

"Gun-related violence occurs all around the world, including (to a lesser extent) countries in which guns are illegal. However, out of the estimated 250,227 gun-related deaths worldwide in 2019, 65.9% occurred in just six countries: Brazil, the United States, Venezuela, Mexico, India, and Colombia. Gun deaths are considered an epidemic in the United States".

It's  not even in the top 10 on a per capita basis. It is a lot safer than the top 10 Latin American countries which have many times greater per capita gun crime  - one reason why the traffic is from there to the US (bringing in a fair number of foreign criminals and killers, to add to the locally grown, predominantly black gangsta class).

Culture trumps everything. The Swiss, having 4 different official languages, are culturally more coherent and have a strong bond despite the significant linguistic differences that led to endless wars among those language groups beyond the Swiss border er but not within since there is cultural cohesion and common history and values.

If you have a coherent, cohesive culture you do not have gun or other crime running out of hand. You fragment and divide (the root of "diversity") and you have escalating tribal conflict between mutually hostile and incompatible socially and culturally Balkanised people.

The US is an increasing Disunited States, fragmenting in every possible way, having lost the ability and the will to be a melting pot, ie to assimilate into the common, shared culture.

Oh, yes they are.

That is totally idiotic, mindless, unthinking garbage - typical from you.

If it was as you say then gun crime in every other country would be exactly proportionate to the number of guns in each country.
This is glaringly obviously not the case.
So there has to be something else aside guns and that is culture, social cohesion and politics at every level.

Guns are the root of the problem.

There's always other factors involved, but guns are the root of the problem.

Nineteen children can't die from gunshot wounds if the bad guy doesn't have a gun.

Pecker got owned

Tell us about all the mass shootings in Finland and Israel where gun ownership is just as high
Oh that's right you can't Cheesy Cheesy

Do you have a link to support that claim mate???

Quote:
Estimate of civilian firearms per 100 persons
United States      120.50
Finland      32.4
Israel      6.7

Oh that's right, you can't!!!

That must come as enormous comfort to the families of the 19 little kids who were shot to death in Texas ... by a gun.

and, remove the poor 3rd world countries, countries that have a strong US influence .
So we can compare apples with apples ......

In the US it is the same, mostly black, underclass that carries out most of the crime,  including gun crime.

You would be comparing apples with apples if you removed the black and Hispanic gun crime numbers from the US stats.

The firearm homicide rate, measured per 100,000 people, rose from 4.6 in 2019 to 6.1 in 2020, the report said, with a strong correlation to poverty.

Among African Americans, the rate was 26.6 deaths per 100,000, a 39.5% increase over 2019. For white Americans, the rate was 2.2 per 100,000.

By raw numbers, there were 19,350 gun homicides in 2020, with African Americans accounting for 62% of the total and white people 21%.

Guns aren't the problem.......about 60% of all US gun deaths are from satisfied gun users, where the gun user got exactly what they wanted.......their own death......100% of those deaths were due to a successful suicide.........about 22,000 deaths every year.....on average over 60 successful gun suicides per day.

...

Guns aren't the problem.......if guns weren't available, most of these souls would have cashed in all their chips another way......motive & desire have a direct connection to the eventual outcome..... .........

No gun has ever shot a person on their own, guns don't go around randomly  shooting people, there is always a person pulling the trigger.

Human action. Careless human action but still, human action. A gun is an inanimate object (like your brain) and so cannot act, it needs a human to handle it.

Janifer Bliss, age 53, was shot in the lower left leg while in a stall of a ladies’ room at a local hotel.

Says the news source, “Police said the woman in the next stall accidentally let her handgun slip out of her waist holster, and the weapon discharged when it hit the ground…

The gun belonged to Debra Monce, 56, of Land o’ Lakes.

She has a concealed weapons permit for the small-caliber handgun, but the case has been referred to the State Attorney’s Office for review.”

No finger on the trigger.
