Body Modifier Jailed For 10 Years

A self-proclaimed extreme body modification artist has been sentenced
to 10 years in jail over the death of a NSW woman he discouraged from
seeking medical help for an infected implant.

In 2021 Brendan Leigh Russell was found guilty in the NSW District Court
of manslaughter, female genital mutilation and intentionally causing
grievous bodily harm.

The offences relate to procedures on three separate women, including one
who died from septicaemia after Russell inserted a snowflake-shaped
implant in her right hand. He discouraged her from seeking medical help
for the infected implant. One of the other women had her labia excised,
and experienced pain for 12 months following the procedure, which made
her unable to use tampons or wear underwear.

—I'm guessing he might have a few body modifications

The answer to that?

Russell was considered a “god” by his victim, when she had the
implantation procedure done in his parlour on the NSW Central Coast.
He later performed a second procedure on the woman, reopening the
wound and repositioning the implant, stitching it back up despite blood
and pus rushing out, and the dark discolouration of her hand. He advised
against seeing a medical practitioner.

On the evening of her death from sepsis stemming from the infection,
he again told her not to worry and to simply take medication.

—I'm guessing he might have a few body modifications

I struggle to see, if a woman wanted her labia trimmed to porn star proportions, that's FGM in an illegal sense

Steady! I knew an Aboriginal Elder named Sailor - and he was a top bloke. One mad young Cheer laid into him with a star picket for being an Uncle Tom once, for trying to set up and operate a holiday camp for city kids ... selling out to Whartey..... the prison cell door and a pair of football socks beckoned.... and some locals wanted to kill the dork and hide him away.... the cops took him away instead.

How stupid would someone be not to see a doctor? It would come down to how bad the infection was when she had it.
