Try to compliment your neighbour by telling him his lawns aren't natural because he created them.

It is not the way 'natural' is used in a sentence.

If you said that it is immoral to sh!t on your neighnours lawn, you'd be on the money. But you know that already.

My neighbour would be the first to tell you that his lawn was not natural and took a lot of work to create and then maintain.

Lefty sh1ts on neighbour's lawns now?  WTF is that all about?  It's natural to sh1t - look at the Indians on beaches at low tide leaving it for the high tide to wash inland..... but only a total lunatic sh1ts on a neighbour's lawn... morality doesn't enter into discussion of lunatics.............

so now you're going to ignore even the dictionary definition, and make up your own by pretending you know what people mean?

I'm not ignoring the dictionary definition. Dictionary definitions are necessarily brief. Natural, as in arising from nature, includes everything if natural is used in the context of cosmos. The dictionary definition does not rule that out. That's why the concept of supernatural exists - arising from beyond the natural universe.

I know when people say something like 'shitting on the neighbour's lawn is not natural', the speaker is likely saying that 'shitting on the neighbour's lawn is not moral'.

You ARE ignoring the dictionary definition and pretending it means something else just because that's what you want it to mean.

And saying that shitting on the neighbours lawn is not 'natural' does NOT means that shitting on the neighbours lawn is not MORAL. Moral means one thing, natural another. Don't assume that just because you don't know what they mean that others don't.

Wold shitting on a neihbour's lawn be immoral because it would indicate a gross disrespect for and a deep insult to the neighbour?

Is showing flagrant (and undeserved) disrespect to a neighbour not immoral?

Would it not be breaking the moral golden rule?

you're the one who put it in that sentence to start with Roll Eyes

Yes. To put into sharp relief the question 'what do you mean by natural?'

It's a common problem when people inject terms that are essentially referring to moralities and are trying to convert an ought to an is without realising they are doing it.

no, it's a common problem when people don't like the definition of a word want to pretend it means something else.

Why do you assume I mean moral when I say natural? I've given you the definition of natural so obviously I know what it means. And yet still you pretend I mean something else. You're in denial.  You need to stop pretending.

Your original definition led to the contradiction that 'natural' excluded shitting in a toilet and on a lawn.

Where is shitting natural?

Have you ever had to define your terms?

That shitting on a lawn is natural. Dogs do it; kids would do it, if they weren't socialised out of it.

And why are kids socialised out of it? Because it is disrespectful and insulting to the neighbour. Those are moral proscriptions.

Dictionaries aren't divine codices. They're necessarily brief. They're your 'starters for ten', not the final word on any definition.
