The article is rubbish. If you are playing video games at home, you are distracted from causing trouble in public. Television, video games and all kinds of distractions take the pressure off creating criminal elements in society.

Even the first paragraph of the article gives rise to the idea that violent video games lower the likelihood that someone would become violent. "Finn" went to tell his mother that he witnessed depictions of a game character punching a woman. It was so concerning that Finn had to report this. That is evidence that Finn has empathy. I would suggest that witnessing violent actions would likely lead people to develop strategies to lower the likelihood of encountering violence.

If, as he claims, people made threats online and/or even fronted his house on camera to intimidate him - there is evidence - clearly there was not.

Sure enough, endless tears.

As I've said before, I have mountains of evidence. I still have the answering machine full of messages threatening to kill my kids. Police were just not educated on online threats like they are now. I am a witness in court at the moment, cops NOW are keen to punish the guy behind it. But they were not then.
