I wonder if we would have so many excuses and protestations if the recruiters were Arab and the targets young Muslim men.

I seem to remember outrage about that.

How is laffing at something 'recruitment'?

If an Arab send me a clip and I laugh - am I now recruited into jihad?

If it was a joke about killing infidels perhaps?  The incel groups are using humour to teach that white men are under attack and women are only useful for sex and abuse.

It's not ... unless they're recruiting for the 'take pity on sore end, he can't help he's an idiot' society

One of our resident Muslims told us about going into our jails to recruit people. Apparently that worked fairly well. There was no particular outrage.

Honestly, I've had people pretend to be me and pretend I was a muslim terrorist.  The right create fake accounts to make Muslims look bad.  But if one Muslim said he's a terrorist, you should have contacted the police.  You have his IP address.  Still does not define all of Islam

He did not say he was a terrorist.

All he said was that if a modern Islamic state arose and came under attack by the infidel, his religion would compel him to take up arms and defend it.

I didn't do anything. He said those things a few years before ISIS hit the news. Then disappeared.

Mothra I can dig up the quote if you would like.

It's an internet forum.  People say things for a reaction all the time but if you were concerned you should have called police.  You can't imagine one claimed Muslim saying something extreme on your internet forum defines islam

No doubt you could, so obseessed are you.

But should i read the thread in which the quote resides, no doubt i will see you twisting and turning everything that member said into an absolute dog's breakfast from which you could pluck your sound byte.

I know how you work, FD. God knows you've done it to me enough times. It's precisely why i never engage with you.

Except now. And now i'm out.

So what twigged the Mothraesque mother in the op?

When Finn told her, "there are good people on both sides", Stephanie's heart dropped.

"I knew that was what president [Donald] Trump had said. My mind was spinning. I thought, what has my son got into online? I've let this happen. I haven't been asking enough questions," she says.

"I told him it was wrong, that I was really disappointed in him to be watching that kind of thing, and I would be even more so if he was sharing it amongst his friends. I let him know that I'd talk to his teachers about it."

She is, in fact, the extremist. Trump said that there are good people on the right and the left - and the mothras of the world flip out.
