Bogus Afterpay verification code SMS (Read 242 times)

A quick Google indicates that thousands of people have received a similar SMS recently ... So - don't panic.

However, we did check the bank and other on-line sites we use to make sure no activity had taken place before discovering that this is a widespread SMS event.

New rules were introduced just last week. Now telco's have to act to stop it

not really ... they just had no reason to act. The more scam texts the more money they make too so why would they stop it? That all changed last week. See the link I put in my previous comment.

you should report that text to your phone provider, they'll block it.
