“Victims are viciously gang-banged, during which they are smashed with iron bars, rocks, pieces of concrete or lumps of wood that cause massive physical injuries and permanent facial deformities. A particularly nasty strain of this violence that is showing an alarming rise, is the number of women being set on fire.”
Such are the sad consequence of the destruction of an ancient culture, some members of which managed to survive - albeit within massive cultural dysfunction - into the present day.
No - that IS the ancient culture - the law of the jungle, the rule of the Silverback with the biggest fists.... still goes on to this day.
No one is denying that, tribal warfare is part of the history of mankind, yet the violence happening internally today in the remnants of h-g cultures coping with the destruction of their original culture,is more like the domestic violence we see in non back cultures today
So regardless of culturally obsolete/abandoned ceremony, don't look too hard in the mirror... domestic violence - one white woman killed a week by a partner, in Oz.
Quote:Bizarrely happened to switch TV through SBS and they had a thing on about the Noble Indigene again.. at the end of it this White guy was talking about this painting someone did long ago, and saying what a wonderful representation it was of how things were when all 'our people' (his White words) got together.... big party, eh..... in the far right there is a woman down on her back near a tree with a bloke standing over her with his arm raised and about to strike, and holding what looks like a cleaver.... or maybe native equivalent...
Reminds me of a remarkable painting in Beauvais cathedral showing a woman with a raised axe about to decapitate one of the French king's soldiers who was storming the ramparts of Beauvais, in the 13th century...
[Europe's cathedrals are remarkable for the public art displaying
blood and guts depictions of martyrdom etc in Christian mythology....like the OT itself, definitely not suitable for children....sensibilities apparently weren't so 'delicate' in the Middle Ages when these paintings were produced].
Quote:I guess he missed that one... just a Noble Courting Ritual...
Like I said, don't look too closely in the mirror....
Quote:Do ANY of these people know what they are talking about? This idea that all the troubles of the Cheers come from disruption of their ancient culture is based on what?
There is so much confusion about
culture on all sides,
because all men are so blindly committed to cultureThere's the answer to your question, as I already patiently explained... but you ignored it, or didn't bother to read it, or are too ideologically blind to comprehend it.
Any attempt to idealize ANY culture is hopelessly flawed.
Quote: Somebody's surmise a few years ago... and now we are supposed to accept it - with zero evidence - as the sole reason they are dysfunctional and can't get on in the real world?
Already explained many times; you are uneducable.
The original culture destroyed by superior arms; the remnants looking around for answers, aided and abetted by others who think all culture is noble.
Quote:The ones I know here have businesses and such and jobs many of them.....
Yes, proving societal dysfunction is eradicable, since individual members of a dysfunctional community can find employment.
So urge the government to get rid of
systemic unemployment resuting from the current dominant TINA/NAIRU neoliberal ideology, so everyone can succeed, to close the gap.
