Worthless response.....or low IQ response  (take your pick); Oz is the blacks' country.

Might have been their walkabout land at some time - it isn't now......

Best you stick to your endless parroting and leave silly ideology out of it..... this is MY country ....you are welcome to hand back all you possess and leave at any time you choose.

No, it is not. They had NO IDEA of Oz. They had small and particular tribal areas. Most of them are NOT living in their tribal areas and most of them have more Anglo blood in them than you, Macedinuan content farmer.

No, it is not.

You failing to keep up again, Frank?

Everyone including even Dutton accepts constitutional recognition of the fact of prior black occupation of Oz.

Out on a limb there, mate! ......tribal areas covering the entire continent.

Your error there is to blithely ignore 200 years of dispossession and inter-racial cohabitation. .....

Of which none of them had any idea. They knew nothing of a continent, of Australia. They knew nothing beyond their territorial borders but that there were hostile tribes there they constantly feuded with. Beyond that, no notion of any kind.

Anyway.

There was no way Abos could be staying in Stone Age aspic any longer. Modernity reached the Australian continent in the late 18th century and there is no way back. So the options for Aborigines is to catch up to modernity or catch up to modernity. They can resist it, they can fight it but they will lose. They will have to adjust to modernity because nobody will adjust to their Stone Age ways and beliefs. It's over. The only worthwhile effort they can make is to adjust and be part of modernity. Most of them realise this and have done so.
The ones that are hanging on to Stone Age ways and beliefs are called 'remote disadvantaged Aboriginal communities".

They certainly knew what dispossession of tribal lands meant...see how silly is your claim they only knew their own locality, as if your claim has any relevance to current black sovereignty/land-rights claims? (however misplaced).

Irrelevant. They possessed land from which they were driven by the white invders.

The question is: does the nation have an equal responsibility to assist them to be part of modernity?

Quote:
Most of them realise this and have done so.

But not those living on, eg the APY lands, and similar situations elsewhere.

Quote:

(....note those quote marks again....)

Yes, but not only remote: the Alice and similar places are suffering high crime rates caused by entrenched disadvantage (a fact graps doesn't want to acknowledge).

So... what must the nation do to eradicate that disadvantage, to close the gap. I heard the average life-span  in the APY lands is 48 years..

Well those days are long gone now - Frank hit it on the head when he said they cannot persist with their old hunter-gatherer ways... all that leads them to in the modern age is hunting and gathering what belongs to others... if the Terr-uh-tree applied all of its laws fully - most of them would be in prison or detention now.  All those kids roaming the streets of Alice and breaking in to homes and such would be in childcare.... and the wailing would never cease about how they are the victims.

Give 'em Aborassic Park and let 'em sort it out between themselves.

Not at all, mon vieux - what are the causes of current day entrenched disadvantage for Aborigines?  You've been squirming for 24 hours now to try and evade answering that simple question... I know why .... you're in a corner and on the ropes......

True - and?  But Frank ignores the fact  blacks were dispossessed of their lands, and are now trying to reverse that situation as far as possible. My solution is to house all blacks decently, thereby taking the wind out of the sails of the activists.

Solution given above; plus gainful employment for all adults to ensure functional home evironments for the kids.

But you just claimed they have to leave the Stone Age behind....

Low IQ?

Well, then - what are the causes of the current Indigenous disadvantage?

Aborassic Park permits them to act in their 'traditional' ways all separated from the evil white man's influences such as dole money and enforced poverty and social security dependence generationally, let alone the need to abandon their hunter-gatherer ways and actually learn to be part of Australia - Low IQ?

Is that your problem?  Low IQ?

Now, then - what are the causes of the current Indigenous disadvantage?  We all know you're terrified to answer since you see the trap you set for yourself.  Now don't be a chicken little or a gutless low IQ coward - you can do it.

But most Australians agree they have to exit the stone age.

Same as for all disadvantage, plus the unique history of blacks in Oz since the invasion in 1788.

I accept your concession.

Most Australians except them - you are getting perilously close to admitting what  the causes of the current Indigenous disadvantage are.  Thank you for your surrender.

235 years to catch up with reality and they're still sitting on their arses.... and yet some are prospering mightily....

So I must ask again:-

What are the causes of the current Indigenous disadvantage?
