Well, its not just Taiwan that the Beijing Communist Party is claiming to own. They invaded Tibet like it was theirs. But just tonight I'm watching the ABC news and it has been announced that the Communist Party is claiming the right to choose the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama when he dies. So not only are they happy to use historical imperialism when it suits them, but it looks like they are going to appoint a commissar of mysticism too. One of the problems with Communist Chinese is they have no sense of humour.

This claim has been part of CCP's usurpation of Tibetan culture for decades. In 1995 the rebirth of the 11th Panchen Lama (the second most senior role in Tibetan Buddhism) was declared by the Dalai Lama after the death of the 10th Panchen Lama.

The CCP abducted the named boy and his family (they have never been seen again) and named its own Panchen Lama.

The CCP also decreed that it had the right to declare the rebirth of the Dalai Lama upon the death of the current one.

The CCP is a gangster organisation with a country.

If the West hasn't heard the wake-up call concerning totalitarian regimes sound by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, we are in deep do-do. Call a fascist by any other name and etc. They may be wearing business suits now, but they are still Maoists dedicated to the destruction of democracy. They are still trying it in Korea and Taiwan is next.

Taiwan is next.

The PLA leadership are too busy making money running corrupt companies (yes, the PLA runs its own businesses!) to be bothered wasting their time with war.
