The only question, ever, was how many people have moved out of Victoria since 2018 ie:

23,858 people move into a city yet 31,726 leave, by how many  people is that city down on overall?

Or if you like:

+23858  -  -31726

The ONLY answer is 7868.

The ONLY question that arrives at the answer 55,584 is:

31, 726 + 23. 858

Which of course tells us nothing.

Larry argues this for pages, against several different posters. And they're still arguing it in this thread.

Seriously, what an idiot.

This is putting is obviously differently to how it was on that other thread where this was the illustration:

https://www.ozpolitic.com/album/forum-attachments/D3748754-7AEF-4664-8351-FD8C07...

This obviously means that the loss of 31k was NOT from the peak of the plus 23K but from the pre-peak baseline. According to the illustration the loss - from the peak - is 53K. The way you formulated it here and in the OP is quite different, with the loss from the peak 23k, not from the baseline, so then the answer is 7k.

The question was always how many moved out of Victoria.

Larry's answer is simply the negative and positive numbers added together. Larry says this is "year 12 maths"

Face it, Larry screwed up royally and is using you to dig their hole ever deeper.

I get that you hate each other - but as far as the maths question goes I have shown quite plainly that there are two ways of putting the question - and it has been but in those two different ways -  and consequently there are two different answers:

Is the 31k coming off the plus 23k ( answer = 7k) or
Is it coming off the baseline, as shown by the illustration (answer is the loos off the additional 23 k PLUS the 31k loss from the baseline= 55k loss)

Larry was wrong to add the two numbers ignoring the sign on one of them.

Don't you know Methra? 😂🤣😆

No brain cells left after all those drugs you've been taking. Whatever happened to those imaginary 3 degrees you suddenly received the moment you got off the streets? Those didn't teach you anything about statistics eh?

Is that why you do casual cleaning these days?

You claimed the total number of people to leave Victoria was 55k+ because you added a negative and positive number together.

Like a complete idiot.

Do you actually have a brain that functions in such a way that it has the ability to contribute something worth reading in this topic? I'm only asking because you're seriously sounding as dumb as Snotty Snorty from Yahoo. And there just can't be 2 dumbarses with his particular brand of irrelevance on this forum. Then again ...

No. I have a sense of humour. - watch the movie 'Chopper' and you might get the reference.

Your posts are almost exclusively either motivated to fawn or denigrate. Why is that?

x times -x = -x squared ... so when someone here posits a positive and another a negative, the end result is a negative not matter how positive the positive was or negative the negative was...

**pullls up saddle to form a seat by the fireside**

"You know... one thing I learned pretty quick on the Western Front with Lefty hammerin' at us day and sometimes night, was to simply stonewall the bastard.....  **taps pipe out on boot**... they say yer can't teach an old dogs new tricks, but us old fullahs sure learned fast with that asshole... we tried gentle reason... we tried logic and facts... an' all 'e did was rage higher an' higher ... so I sat meself back and figured there was an easier way.....

... an' it came to me.... just like that.... just like an ol' dog learnin' that new trick.... just stonewall the bastard while e's buildin' that 'ead o' steam, and sure enough - he'll blow steam out uv 'is ears, then if yar keep it up, he'll blow 'is top..... them manic kinds are always like that... nothin' infuriates 'em more or drives 'em more easily into a trap they build fa themselves than just slowin' 'em down t' buggery an' not respondin' t' their crap...... that's 'is grave over there.... the one tha dog just pissed on......

You didn't report statistics. You claimed the total number of people to leave Victoria was 55k+ because you added a negative and positive number together.

Like a complete idiot.

The only drug addicted idiot with 3 imaginary degrees while living on the streets is you. And the only idiot who has no idea about simple statistics which is taught in every HSC Maths syllabus is you.

In fact you're just another dumbarse like Abo Frodo. Except you think Googling replaces a solid Uni degree. It doesn't Methra and that's why today you're sitting in a rented flat out in Boganville hoping to do a bit of cash cleaning for your next drug hit. And I'm sitting in a fully owned home with triple garaging overlooking the water. See that's what REAL degrees get you Methra...real careers and REAL money.

But whilst here be a good mole and give my regards to your troll buddy Groggy. Do tell him Lisa Jones said SUCKED IN 😂🤣😆
