Nothing pedantic about it.... it's not like taking fifty Abo perps into custody and somehow losing ten... not as simple as that. would you like your pizza in eight slices or twelve, or can you only eat eight?

The question needs to state clearly the parameters or it is void..... just like any idea of a Voice.... silly idea, but still... we have to put it to bed somehow....

You know the parameters now, not that they were unclear.

Can you answer?

I think not.

OH?  You didn't change one iota from the original statement... are they even in the same town, did they leave over the same time period.....

Amend your question.... then we may consider it fairly.

Um... is this a trick question?

If 31,726 people leave the city, as cited, then the answer is in the question.

IE:  31,726

Wink

Overall?  See - it is a trick question..... not the same as fifty Abo perps in custody at all....

If 23,858 people move into a city yet 31,726 leave, by how many  people is that city down on overall?

Is it:

a) 55,584

b)  7,868

c)  Something else

Please tell us how you arrived at your answer.

Well, if you take 23,858 Abos into custody in the NT, and 31,726 are released on bail...by how many Abos is your prison population down overall?

Are they all in the same city?  Without parameters..... you know.... been over the Voice without parameters clearly laid down and indestructible... you know - no parliament may alter from time to time..... as it suits them only..... and without influence on ministers direct....

As stupid as you are, you probably think that's an synonymous question.

But 23,858 move in.

So overall, how many left?

What is the population down overall?

I was going to call this thread " A Simple Maths Question" but was afraid of being too optimistic.

Good call, me.

Counsellor - our system is founded on the fundamental rule that you may only provide provable facts and not on some generalised infusion of thought or suggestion without any support.... it is not simply enough to say that all Whites are racist or to ask a question without specifying where it sits in the pantheon of truth ...... you must prove your case....  similarly here you must provide full details and parameters of that which you seek to find an answer for..... the same as any question about any Voice to provide special treatment under a constitution that possesses no Bill of Rights.

Hush - there's a first for  everything...  without defining your definitions of 'up' and down' there you cannot expect a simple answer... if you had asked simply if x people left how many was the city down by... it would have been different...

This is more of a social studies question than a pure mathematical one.... and is indeed a 'trick' question.

Chalk and cheese - how many moved in - how many moved out - how many is the city down?  the difference....

How many left?  As many as left....

How many stayed ... as many as stayed. ...

Silly trick question.....

Well - remove 'overall' and substitute via exiting... overall it is the difference... in the context only of how many left it is how many left.

It's a poorly worded question......

Now, now - no personal attacks - you're the one who supported Lefty with his insanity and bullying... no wonder he was on an internet curfew... on the news some guy who has to report to cops every day is in the same boat.... now what kind of person was this Lefty???  And you adored him for one reason only - he struck out in his insanity at those you deemed to be your enemies....

You are a complete fool....... and frankly mad......
