Das Kapital is not revolutionary in any way. It is a turgid, stupid plodding treatise on economics by a bozo who was trying to outdo other, much more intelligent economists.
As economic theory it is negligible, derivative, hollow.

Marxism as a revolutionary program is more in his other works, where he argues with other socialists.

If Marx had written only Das Kapital nobody would remember him now.

So your only evidence is that Greg has Das Kapital in his bookcase?

I had the three volumes of it at one stage—so did my Dad as a young man—but that does not make me a Marxist. For once I agree with Frank—Das Kapital is boring, turgid crap.

Then again, I had Mein Kampf too—does that make me a nazi? A very hard to read book and I am not saying I read all of it but I came across a passage where Hitler goes into a paroxysm of hate and disgust—an Orthodox Jew had crossed his path. Bang goes all this crap about Hitler trying to protect the Jews.

Talking about turgid books—I also read a couple books by Ayn Rand.

You still have not advanced any evidence that:

1. Cultural Marxism is a real thing

2. That anybody here is a Marxist or Cultural Marxist.

Just as you have not provided any evidence anyone here has AntiSocial Personality Disorder whereas I have shown tons of evidence that you, Booby, are a psychopath.

Das Kapital has to be put into the context. Marx was born in 1818. His Communist Manifest came out in 1848. He was critiquing societies were slaves and opium were traded openly, where child labour, indentured service, and serfdom were common. And petty criminals were transported to Australia in vessels under spurious contracts that ensured pestilent conditions. Old age for most people meant working til they dropped.

In his theories, Marx did not envision dictatorships that persecuted and murdered people to stay in power. Communism was his form of utopia. He did not mean Stalinism or CCP re-education camps.

People who like to claim Marxist principles, love the pose of the socialist struggle. Part of this is the assumption that their ideas must be good, because they have everyone's best interests at heart. It is foolish to compare Western societies today, with those of Marx's formative years. Life in these countries is infinitely better than it was.

His ideas didn't work.

In the Jewish Kibbutz's some people worked very hard every day from dawn till dusk
doing hard farm work or whatever and they got the same reward as someone else
who sat on their arse all day watching TV -
it caused bitter fights and people left -
the lazy ones would not work and would only take from the ones who did work hard.
