Cultural Marxism isn't a thing - It was made up by the right.

Silly nonsense.

Marxism is not made up at all. Only a complete idiot would insist that Marxism is a made-up conspiracy theory.

Er...low IQ, Frank? The discussion is about the fake RW concept of "cultural Marxism".

Marxism is about the economy, not "culture" ie,  views re homosexuality, feminism, religion, international law, globalization, tradition, family, and other coservative shibboleths (pro- or anti-) etc etc...all listed by the crippled conservatibe brain aka as  aquascoot.

Silly, ignorant bollock.

Marx talks about BOTH economics and culture. Marxism treats the latter, the superstructure, as being determined by and built on the foundation of the former.

"Workers of the world, unite: you only have your chains to lose" ie, chains imposed by greedy capitalists.

But you are trying to raise the "superstructure" (culture) above the foundations (the economy), whereas Marx only examined  "culture" in as much as it is related to  the causes of the mal-distribution of factories' output.

[Today - with many factories functioning more or less without workers - the problem is now the false doctrine of 'austerity' imposed on governments by private financiers and central bankers.]

Quote:
There is a very great deal in Marxism about false consciousness, bourgeois values,  the need to transform culture, values, thinking, ideology.

Yes - as part of understanding how to create an economy which works for all ("workers of the world, unite"); whereas  today's RW fantasists employ 'cultural marxism  as a straw man for real Marxism, to conceal  their own greedy claims on the nation's output, so they divert to considerations of "culture".

Quote:
There is a vast library of Marxist cultural analysis and only an complete idiot would say that it is all just made-up right wing conspiracy theory and Marxism only concerned with economics.

Addressed above; Marx's concern was economic equity and justice, in a world of economic injustice.

Obviously Marx had more to say about the economy, than  'culture'.

https://monthlyreview.org/2018/04/01/the-multiple-meanings-of-marxs-value-theory...

The Multiple Meanings of Marx’s Value Theory

Karl Marx’s “critique of political economy” is grounded in his value theory. “Critique” has to be distinguished from criticism: Marx aimed not only to point out the errors of political economy, but also to learn from its scientific results. Here the key names are François Quesnay, Adam Smith, and David Ricardo. Marx was also interested in assessing the conditions and the limits of the knowledge provided by classical political economy. At the same time, he saw the critique of the “science” of political economy as the means to develop a critique of capitalist social relations.

Marxism didn't end with Marx's own final utterance, parrot, which was, I believe, " Pull your finger out, parrot, FFS!! " (I am quoting from memory).

I'm afraid you memory is failing you....

Dnarever nailed the soure of the cultural Marxism RW bs

"Weyrich equated political correctness with Cultural Marxism in a speech to the Conservative Leadership Conference of the Civitas Institute in 1998. He argued that "we have lost the culture war".

Marx is one of the world's most famous and influential economists, suck it up.

It would be a rubbish conspiracy theory if there were not dopes supporting it.

In Short to the right anything involving social justice has to be related to Cultural Marxism. It is just a lame excuse to deploy one of their favourite words against anything they don't agree with.

There is still no real connection between Marx, Frankfurt and the US in the 1990's except for the made up conspiracy theory we have here.

You are an ignorant, unread pea brained duck. In your world, there is no connection between anything except your brain and peas.

You lack even elementary, nodding acquantance with basic concepts and you refuse all attempts at even tentative introductions.   ou are ignorant and that's how you like it and that's how you will stay. You read scrappy news portals and never venture beyond that little trough.

The connection is not, little pea brained duck, between "Marx, Frankfurt and the US in the 1990s". THAT formulation by you just demonstrates how ignorant and contentedly stupid you are.   The Frankfurt School is a Marxist cultural school of thought that relocated to New York and is now called the New Scool.

The Frankfurt School and Critical Theory
The Frankfurt School, known more appropriately as Critical Theory, is a philosophical and sociological movement spread across many universities around the world. It was originally located at the Institute for Social Research (Institut für Sozialforschung), an attached institute at the Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. The Institute was founded in 1923 thanks to a donation by Felix Weil with the aim of developing Marxist studies in Germany. After 1933, the Nazis forced its closure, and the Institute was moved to the United States where it found hospitality at Columbia University in New York City.

When you read your links what you come up with is a load of senseless gobbledigook. The basis of most of it is to link Critical theory to Marx. This fails miserably. Not only this but it does not link to Das Capital or anything he wrote or said but goes to Marxist social beliefs which he never did. Here we see the right connect pure fiction from the 1700's to Frankfurt in the 1930's and then to Philadelphia in the 1990's and it ends up being a belief that anything social in construct that the right don't like is Marxist and not only marxist but a non existent branch of marxism - Cultural Marxism.

No Columbia University is not a marxist education facility. Yes they have a few courses on critical theory and yes it is possible to consider the social impacts of structure without it being related to Marxism. Either directly or indirectly.

You may note that I have no need to insult you - you do a rather nice job of that on yourself.

Critical theory ACKNOWLEDGES its Marxist roots. If you understood the words you are reading you would readily see that. But you don't,  so you don't.

Quote:

Not only this but it does not link to Das Capital or anything he wrote or said but goes to Marxist social beliefs which he never did.

You do sound like a moron

It is not the 'right', ya illiterate duck wit, it is the acknowledged trajectory of Marxist critical theory and thought.

They house the New School. But Marxist cultural theory is not confined to the heirs and successors of the Frankfurt School.

It is not possible to 'consider the social impact of structure' , as you put it in your inimitably gauche and illiterate way,  without Marxist theory. If it were, you would point us to it.

But you are out of your depth in anything but a duck shite covered waddling pool, so you are pointing us to nothing else.

Stalin - death count -

In 2011, historian Timothy D. Snyder summarised modern data made after the opening of the Soviet archives in the 1990s and states that Stalin's regime was responsible for 9 million deaths, with 6 million of these being deliberate killings. He further states that estimates of 20 million or above, which were made before access to the archives, are not credible.[935] According to Rogovin, 80–90% of the members of the Central Committee elected at the Sixth through to the Seventeenth Congresses were physically annihilated.[936]

Most I would expect are thrilled to be on your list however none are cultural Marxists - the term isn't real. There is no such thing.

It is like calling members and supporters of the right cultural fascists.

This may be a good term to describe MAGA?

The opposite of Marxist is not fascist, duck duck.

Cultural Marxism is real, if Marxism is real.  You can say that there is no cultural Marxism only if you maintain that there is no such thing as Marxism OR if you say that Marxists have zero interest in cultural matters and have never ever said anything about culture.

Both of these would be peabrained idiocies - yet ( or is it therefore?) you seem to cleave to them grimly.

Both of these would be peabrained idiocies - yet ( or is it therefore?) you seem to cleave to them grimly.
