Smith, you're a fkucing retard. Slamming on the brakes doing 110kph with a driver 1 meter behind you at dusk is dangerous driving. If you caused a death...

The offence of dangerous driving occasioning death carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison unless the offence was aggravated. The offence is aggravated if the driver:

If you deliberately do 80 in a 110 lane then you're a farrk wit of the highest order. You need to be run off the road and die.   Grin
Life has been engineered to be fast paced.  People need to meet stupid deadlines, all within the law.
They don't need you antagonising them.  Not only that,  you may end up hurt.

In saying that,  you drive like a maniac then you are the farrkwit of the highest order. No need to kill someone to be the first at the next set of lights.
Chill out man,  but work hard and meet your deadlines.

Best thing ever is having the cars do 10kph more than trucks on the M1 between Brisbane and goldy . Bloody awesome idea. I hope they run the Bruce the same up to gympie, or at least Noosa.

You oughta try it on the Pacific... I've been running downhill and entering what I know is a 100 zone where a cop hides - and had a truck pacing me and out-running me - had to be hitting 115 and smart-arsing as well - herh-herh-ing over those cars in his way etc... bloody idiot - if he hit one he'd be in the biggest world of hurt.  Same with idiots who tail-gate... told yez about the horses that ran onto the highway once and were hit by a truck and one bounced off into an overtaking very small car.. imagine an old lady having a flying horse come right at her little red car?  When that truck or that lady hit the skids - how would a stupid tail-gater go - other than fined.  They have signs on the highway telling people how far to stay back in 110 zones between lines marked on the road for their convenience - so the idiots might have a chance to work it out - this is not Marrickville Road peak hour... you stuff up out here and you're likely dead and not just fender bent - doesn't affect them one iota...

The stupid thing about Australian Road Rules sometimes is

'give way to merging traffic'.
Which, in the cities as you know - means 'speed up' so a merger can't get in front of you.
Now this is dangerous because a merger finds it harder to look over R shoulder, than L shoulder - less visualisation.

But here's the catch. In Australia the 'visual line of merging' CONTRADICTS the give way approach.
In NZ the merging line cuts across to the right - which makes visual sense in support of the give way to merging traffic rule.

Hence why in Australia, you see so many people 'stop' at the end of the merge waiting to enter right - for fear of those cars that do not slow, but speed up.

Now correct me if I'm wrong - but it is 'safer' to give way to a merger (slow down, or at least don't speed up - to allow them to enter right) who is limited visually by looking over their right shoulder, etc.
