they rate coco pops and cheerios as better foods then meat and eggs.

I took the time to do exactly that, and found this:

Researchers from Tufts University in Boston,  created the 'Food Compass',
dubbed to be the 'most comprehensive system' made to assess what we
eat. The team spent three years looking at more than 8,000 foods and drinks.

They gave each food a score between 1 and 100—the higher the score, the
healthier the food. Foods scoring between 100 and 70 are encouraged, those
between 69 and 31 should be eaten only in moderation, while  anything under
30 should be avoided.
