As of 8 September, Trump's favourability rating has fallen
by another 14.7 points. It's now only 40.3% versus his
unfavourability rating of 54.9%.   [FiveThirtyEight]

Can I have the Link for that please?

I'm guessing that the visualisation of orange gunk splattered everywhere was in reality an underwhelming sight.

Without a consensus two party duopoly, Great, Dear Leader would still be in.

Therein lies the benefits of what we modestly call DeMoCrAcY.

Jan 6th Capitol riots?

Chairman Xi cannot possibly eradicate corruption.

But he can...at least  as much as any government can eradicate corruption.

Quote:
A one-party monopoly guarantees it. If Sleepy Joe Biden, a complete cleanskin had a political monopoly, he'd have corruption too.

He has it now; half his Dems are on the take - corruption is systemic in adverarial democracies as well.

Quote:
Corruption is not eradicated by benign dictators, dear, it's SyStEmIc.

Simplistic: given the instinctive self interest of men, all systems  are potentially corrupt.

Quote:
Sure, you can have a bit of corruption in a duopoly like America, but the example of Donald J Trump shows us exactly what happens when would-be dictators misbehave.

As I said, Xi's party is driven by the goal of common  prosperity, cf Trump's self-interested MAGA without regard to entrenched disadvantage in the US.

Quote:
We now have the example of a Russian-backed foreign agent who blackmailed a foreign power to get dirt on a political rival's son, plotted a military coup, launched an attempted insurrection and stole over 11,000 government records that contain even more criminal evidence.

What would they do with such a politician in Chi-na?

Imprison him.

Chi-na?

Of course. But as common prosperity is gained in any nation, corruption is reduced.

Deng?  he was 4 decades ago; per capita GDP is 5 times higher now.
