I feel the need to clarify my position given some of the backlash I've received online for my views on the Royal Family.

I'm clearly not a fan of the Royal family. The example set by them is shocking and shameful, selfish and self serving. I thank God every day that my children are nothing like the Queen's. I feel sorry for the poor girls who've married into the Royal family because they must grovel in order to survive. I don't like seeing women being mistreated and yet most of the current daughter in laws of this family have not been treated well.

At this point I'd like to highlight the issue of hypocrisy. Let's never forget the fact that the billions of dollars in wealth owned by the Queen and her Royal family (I'm not referring to Monarchy owned palaces and jewellery etc) are tax free as she herself carefully invested in offshore havens to AVOID paying TAX to her own country. In addition, laws are in place giving herself and her family tax exemptions which other English citizens are not ENTITLED to. A monarch leads by example. Positive not negative example. I have not seen that in the late Queen and I certainly have not seen that in her children.

I feel strongly that it's time Australia broke free of England and became a Republic. The current incumbent and his mistress must surely be enough of a wake up call to every Australian irrespective of age or culture.

As a Christian and as a Conservative my conscience implores you all to reflect and/or pray for Australia and New Zealand and other Commonwealth countries whose leaders are currently seriously considering changing their model of government.

I take this opportunity to pay my respects to the humble and unassuming women of Australia who have died without mention and without accolades all because they were not born into any position of power and privilege YET they gave their time, money and heart into helping those less fortunate than themselves.

Last time i checked it's still a free country people are allowed to have different opinions.

It's usually those from the left who don't think people should have opinions that differ from theirs.

20 years ago i thought we should cut our ties with the British monarch then my opinion changed to waiting till the Queen left that job before doing it. Now we have King Charles it's time to cut our ties.

I don't think we should change our flag as that will result in everyone around the world who has our flag having to buy another one it's not something i want to inflict on the rest of the world. I saw more Aussie flags in France than here which the French have flown since WW1 on their town halls in every city Aussie diggers liberated from the Germans. A lot of cafes pubs etc all have our flag on display as a tribute to the Aussies who went there to fight the Germans.

I think the Queen was pretty good was reading a story of her visiting a school one of the young kids didn't know who she was and asked whose nan is that.

Leftists and the Ayatollahs have a lot in common when it comes to criticism of Islam, they don't tolerate it.

Lets not forget that the Greeks had a Royal Family as did the Italians.

Prince Phillip was Greek.

Quote:
The last monarch of Greece was Constantine II, who is still alive today and currently resides in Greece (after more than 4 decades in exile). His line will continue through his son Pavlos. He is also a member of the House of Glücksburg and members of that royal house continue to rule Denmark and Norway. In addition, members of the Greek royal family have married into other royal families, such as Constantine's sister Queen Sofía (married to Juan Carlos of Spain) and his first cousin once removed Prince Philip (married to Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom).

Gnads a free tip : Don't attempt to teach me about my cultural/political history using quick rough googled excerpts like that (which incidentally you've yet to work out DON'T support YOUR case). It's also probably a good idea for you to know that I also studied both Modern and Ancient Greek history at Uni.

Why am I offering you this free tip? I honestly don't enjoy tearing into posters I usually respect.

I will say this much though : your knowledge of European history is pretty much non existent.

Nevertheless...if you re read your own link and perhaps read a bit more into the "Greek" Monarchy....you will find clues which might help you understand who the last GREEK King actually was. Hint : Think Ancient Greece.

Cheers

Had nothing to do with teaching you anything...

maybe just a pointed reminder ... that all the European Royals are related.

But you want to go back to Codrus?

Dear God you're still sitting there struggling to understand GREEK history.

And you've now googled some dribble about European ie German/English styled Greek kings planted by foreign controlling empires. I'm seriously not interested. Nor am I impressed. If anything I'm quite perplexed at your level of ignorance.

Edit : Irrespective of your helpless inability to grasp a few simple historical facts pertaining to Greece as a monarchy ... I may well still be able to help you understand why Greece became a Republic.

I'll cut you some slack and give you the bottom line : It had enough of being controlled by foreign EUROPEAN ROYAL hypocrites pretending to be Greek in self STYLED title only. Not 1 of them had an ounce of Greek blood in them. Not one!

Out of curiosity why did you mention Codrus?

Well how far back are you talking?

Codrus was born 1091BC

the last semi mythical King of Greece.

How is he a German (european royal)?

I'm not professing any expertise on ancient Greece ... let alone that that has bought out your air of superiority in such matters.

I'm not worried if your not interested, or perplexed or not impressed. And you're not cutting me any slack - I don't need it.

I'm not trying to make any sort of impression so I'd appreciate you hopping down off your high Trojan horse.

I'll leave you to ponder what my next response may be if you keep it up.

And......I've just worked out what your other regular ID is.

Cheers

So again.... you're claiming I'm some one else here Roll Eyes

You're getting as bad as that idiot FutureLeft Wank

honestly that's what you seem to do to everyone

accuse them of being a multi nic

Stop being a dickhead Lisa or whom ever the pharrk you are Roll Eyes Grin

A Republican can still show respect....

The Plantagenets won the election in 1066 but the republican king Henry VII of Tudor roused the red-necks to riot and steal the title.  His method is a Royal Secret which may be declassified as 'Convict' for 14 years and flogging.  The Windsors still claim they won and have guns and power.
