The term colonial imperialism has come to mean solely the UK in the anglosphere.

It seems easy for us to forget there were French, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Belgian and even German European colonising nations in recent history as well.

Not to mention the Russian empire and the Ottoman empire.

... and the Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Mayan .... pretty much a worldwide performance governed by the ability to cross the waves.... or not...

It's all about the Wharte Man these days..... nobody else does or did anything .....

Laugh a minute this forum.....

Yes. There have been many empires throughout history (you forgot the Mongol Empire) - I was referring to relatively recent history - and those that survived more than a few years.

In whose imagination has it become so simplistic?

A thing i've noticed about you is that you make a realisation, think it's clever and then extrapolate that it's rarefied. It's not.

I'm quite sure the world's countries are completely aware of who they were colonised by. In fact, tellingly, some have even left clues in the name of the countries themselves!

And absolutely none of this detracts from the fact that every 6 -7 days, a country on earth celebrated independence from the UK.

A thing I've noticed about you is that you shoot first at anything that moves, which is usually your foot.

That link you posted of a tweet includes 'No citation was included alongside the tweet, which was also shared to Facebook and Reddit’s r/historymemes.'

Within the anglosphere, there is an obsession with reparations. Not sure whether the French, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch and Belgians are asked as much - at least within the Anglosphere we don't hear about it much.

Yes but i read the entire contents of the link which was why i amended the meme from 6 to 6 -7 days.

Had you read the contents of the link, you would have spared yourself this embarrassment.

And it's far less about reparations that recognition. You seriously should know that.

Charles was pushing the envelope writing to MPs about Royal Policy. Now he's pushing his staff around. If he brings in foreign troops to restore his rights, the local cops may need an AVO and good behaviour.

Sorry?

I mean, this question seems so far beyond petulant it's lower primary at best.

Freedom of information age - garbage in - garbage out..... and it seems that many want that freedom of information to only work one way - their way .... apparently nobody else has a right to exercise this freedom of information age to offer any differing views...

That's the biggest problem today with the 'woke' and other charlatans.

So you, dear mothra - now deny that any and all other 'empires' ever existed?  Roman..... Greek.... Persian ... Egyptian  ...... the list is endless..... you deny that in the past countless 'civilisations' were brutal, abusive, dominated by a hierarchy which was totally self-obsessed and greedy as... jeez - look at the Arab nations now..... look at China with its New Emperor and New Mandarins... Somalia, Ethiopia ..... same old, same old....

But only the Whartes are at fault, eh?

So you posted a spurious link and amended it to your own satisfaction, then.

How many became independent of Britain by the actions of warlords who went on to establish genocidal or ethno-chavinistic regimes? Did you exclude those?

Why did South Africa return to and remains in the Commonwealth?

Yet more assumptions you pride yourself on.

Pity. I really think you could be cleverer.

Why do you think repeating the assumption was worth the bandwidth?

What do you think you've proved?

Would you like to present reasons why? This is your party.

You've got 4. I've got 60 odd.

Would you like to justify yours?

Just wondering how many times you've offered your services to Aboriginal communities.

I'm guessing never.

No, no this is your party.

How did you come by your figure of those celebrating independence? Are they a list of nations that celebrate being freed from the yoke of the British?

How many of those countries, on your list, celebrate their national day as we do?
