Tonight -
4 slices of ham with:
steamed broccoli, picked onions, picked gherkin,
orange cocktail tomatoes and a nice dob of Dijon mustard.
Also with a Tiger baguette and butter.
It was very nice.

Lovely

Thanks Sprint,
it wasn't up to John's standards but it's exactly what I wanted
and that's what counts.

it wasn't up to anyone's standards.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

You simply can not say that was a good dinner and then pretend you have standards.

What the hell did you eat?
How about a photo?
This was good.

Cheeses, you have been cut off from cookbooks and cooking programs for 150 years!!!

Wet ham with wet broccoli and wet pickled onions and a jug of wet on the side for dipping???

Show us what you cook - it's easy to criticise someone else.   Roll Eyes

That has been a favorite recipe of mine for 40 years.
It's a nice light meal.

Is that all you ate? That's about how much I eat while I'm standing at the fridge deciding what I'm going to eat  Grin

Gluttony is a sin.
Repent for the end is nigh.

I do one meal a day 6 days a week with a rolling average of 2000 calories a day, but some days I'll eat just 500 calories while others I'll make up for it. When I'm on make up for it day and I've done a big workout, I could eat what you posted while standing at the fridge deciding what to eat Smiley

Not particularly photogenic, but this is some caramelised onion which will be my go to condiment for the week.

That's a bag of pink onion, a clove of garlic browned with olive oil then a dash of balsamic and beef stock and salt.

This was about 15m in the pressure cooker and needs about another hour (just lid on but no heat) then cooked for 10 mins lid off to reduce liquid.

I have a nice recipe for red onion marmalade. I pinch all the red onion skins lying in the bin at the greengrocer—adds more color. The book with the recipe is packed up ATM, unfortunately.

This steak tonight was delicious - marinated with pepper for many days.
Served with a dob of Dijon mustard
with sauerkraut and mixed veges.

No pics but....

Poached chicken breast served with caramalised onion and a bit of sriracha sauce
(5yo had tomato sauce).
Boiled hawaiian sweet potato
Sauted kale
Big salad

Poached chicken breast is SOOOO good, so cheap and above all, so easy.

Boil water in a pot, I add star anise, lemon juice. Add chicken breast to boiling water which should totally cover all chicken. Lid on and return to boil. As SOON as it boils, heat off and leave for 30mins. You can leave for nearly an hour with no harm. DO NOT take the lid off or mess with it.

I love this because I can put it on, go pick up the kids and it's ready when I get home and both kids LOVE it.

What kind of steak?
I'd pass on the mustard but go the sauerkraut.
Are those mixed veges from the freezer?

Eye fillet steak.
The veges were frozen and just microwaved for 4 minutes - still crispy.
Maille Dijon original mustard is spectacular - bursting with flavor -
perfect with any meat or fish.
