Gee. Elwood has sure changed a lot since I used to swim down that way.

Here it is:

However the bay is often too dirty to swim in.

Falafel is probably the most recognisably Israeli food there is.

In almost every town in Israel you can find a choice of shops attracting the hungry with the delicious smell of frying falafels. The Shuk (market) Betzalel area in Tel Aviv, for example, is famous for its excellent falafel. Falafel balls are made of spicy chickpeas (humusim) or broad beans. They are then stuffed into a pita bread with a salad, pickles, and tahini. Before starting to fill the pita bread, it's recommended that you spread houmous inside it. If you find yourself extra-hungry, you might like to add fries or an extra falafel ball or two to make for a filling and delicious feed. It’s best to hold your customised treat away from your body while eating so that you don’t get tahini all over yourself.

Many versions of the falafel have been developed in Israel, from green or square patties to a waffle-like falafel. The classic taste is yet to be bettered, though.

I went down to Ackland street St Kilda for some Falafel but they didn't have anything
that looked as good this from Israel:

I had the best falafel in Tel Aviv.
Second best in Surry Hills, at the back of USYD.
Both in the late 80s.

I always wanted to go to Israel -
at least to try the food -
also to visit all the Holy sites -
but there was always a war on or a threat of war when I was free to go there.

I only made the decision to go on a diet last night... after I bought a bunch of big breakfast ingredients to have for dinner. Does not really matter that much. I am burning off the fatty foods through my rucking.

I ate my fatty meal, and then remembered why it was that I rarely have these big breakfast meals. So, that incited me to go for resistance training walk to burn off whatever I could before the meal was stored as fat.
