What's the racial aspect and what's the socio-economic aspect of the Gap that needs Closing? Where's the boundary?
The racial aspect of "the gap that needs closing" applies to the survivors of the defunct h-g culture, in Oz.
The socio-economic aspect of the 'gap that needs closing' IS the socio-economic disadvantage which is manifested in the egregious socio-economic stats (related to black poverty) of the (black) gap.
Quote:What is it about Aboriginality that is not socio-economic
Note: 'socio-economic' combines concepts of both culture AND economics.
So your question is invalid because blacks possess a culture (partly eclipsed - the degree to which this has happened is disputed), as well as being subject to the current vicious/competitive market economy (with the poverty-level dole as the 'safety net', for all races).
Quote:and what is the limitation of the socio-economic for the particular Abiriginal race at which point specific Aboriginal (bot not Indian, African, Asian) race-based measures are needed?
I have said before: when Aboriginal poverty exists at the same rate as poverty in the non-aboriginal population, ie the black gap has been eradicated.
Soooo.... there is an Aboriginal 'gap' but Aboriginality has nuffin' to do wiv nuffin'.
Oh dear, another slow learner, consequent to the 'black- white' (....no grey) conservative dichotomy.
Aboriginality is related to low economic outcomes because of socio economic factors, as described, resulting in systematic exclusion from employment, as the h-g economy was pushed aside without creation of an alternative employment model** (ie different from the h-g 'employment' model in which living and employment are one and the same).
**appropriate for blacks making the transition to a money economy.
Quote:It's everybody else going it to them because they are Aborigines but only to 20 % of them, the other 80% manage ok. Why everyone is racist toward the 20% but not the 80% remains a mystery. So it's yeah but no but - plus job guarantee financed by fiat money.
Are you Vicky Pollard?
Thanks for mentioning her, she's priceless** - as is your clever imitation of her in the above paragraph.
Answers:
1. generous, non-racist people in Oz want to close the gap.
2. the JG is financed by properly instituted and authorized treasury and central bank operations, the quantum of financing determined by the electorate, not the dictates of f**kwit ossified central bankers whose "independence" is a ruse to allow politicians off the hook for the dysfunctional economy.
**she is a sad reflection of the effects of decades of institutionalised poverty on the young in Britain, the outcome of Thatcher's dysfunctional neoliberal orthodoxy which enforces unending 'austerity' on government social policy.
