A despotic government does not require 50% + 1 - all it requires is its ruling group to impose.

Well, I'm pleased at least one stable "authoritarian" meritocracy exists - which enjoys widespread support among its citizens - because establishing good government ("for the common welfare and collective security"), over naturally self-interested individuals is difficult - as Churchill noted in his famous remark about government.
A friendly competition between the two systems might in fact improve both systems, by reducing the disadvantages in either system (through a competition to improve governance).

Now, back to enforced welfare dependency, as in the current  method of dealing with unemployment among whites or blacks in Oz, but especially blacks who are burdened by cultural, as well as economic factors;

.... when the referendum fails and (a majority of) the nation still want an integration of black and non-black cultures, will you still  be promoting Apartheid?

So form an absolutist party and see how they go at the hustings..... there's your challenge outside of your endless theorising.  How's the fixing the Aboriginal issues out West going?  Getting much traction with your lecture tour telling them they need to work to be men etc?

You have it backwards - I'm not promoting Apartheid... the YES voters are.  the nation has n integration of black and non-black cultures - but the black doesn't want to play with the other kids.  Chinese make great Chinese food, but they still love a hamburger sometimes.

I won't have to. I have already spoken to Pat Dodson, cabinet minister, about reinstating the CDEPs ....which he said the govt. is "looking at".

Now, when the referendum fails (as is likely, with political divisions opening up everywhere), I will be able to present some serious  observations to him  ....

The Yes vote enshrines cultural difference in the constitution, yes, but your policies, eg, separate lands and separate lifestyle, etc, engender apartheid, in lieu of integration into the waged workforce.

Yes.  I think Mundine and Price recognize integration into the paid economy is necessary, not sure about Thorpe and  Burney, and other 'black culture' activists.

Here's some more meat - check that rate of increase... breeding like flies, I tellz yez - Pascorigines:-

As at 30 June 2021 there were 984,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, representing 3.8% of the total Australian population.
This is an increase of 185,600 people (23.2%) since 30 June 2016.
One-third (33.1%) of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population was under 15 years of age.

https://www.abs.gov.au/statistics/people/aboriginal-and-torres-strait-islander-p...

So 600,000 people mostly illiterate should hold 26 million to ransom on any issue?  What is this?  The Days of the Aboriginal Raj or something?

Here is the word from the Mahatma, which should resonate with the Indians here today:-

"We in India in a moment," he proclaimed, "realize that 100,000 Englishmen need not frighten 300 million human beings."

We in Australia in a moment realise that 600,000 Indigenes need not frighten 26 million human beings....

I'm not promoting anything - I'm giving a response to what can be done to settle the grievance industry of the Indigenous - and particularly along the very lines they themselves advocate or have advocated.

Surely, O Great One, you have no objection to 600,000 adult citizens doing things their way regardless of laws and every other citizen and being handed everything they demand including profligate grants of land (illegal these days of non-colonialism) that they can never use and will never use other than as sticks with which to beat other people in this nation of equals.

Given the generous gifting of vast lands to them by stupid governments doing things all wrong and often illegal (see above for a start), they can surely make a living out of those vast lands.  Others did it once with an axe and a shovel...... in the face of often fierce opposition from local tribes trying to drive them back into the sea, such as the Appin Massacre - a punitive mission that killed fourteen WARRIORS and rescued women and children after sixteen whites including women and children were killed in cowardly attacks.

I doubt it is I who has it backwards.

YOU spoke to Pat Dodson - well - that'll help - he sure won't be giving up his chance of a permanent seat on the Voice to actually do something for his fellow Aborigines, same as the rest of them.  Kinda reminds you of that film Lawrence of Arabia, don't it, when Lawrence was bracing General Allenby for artillery and such and Allenby responded by mumbling "Yes' to everything, but actually meaning "I understand what you are asking for, but that's it."  Well played... of course Dodson would say Yes to everything... he has no intention of ever doing it and losing his incomes and power.

You cannot be serious.  I keep thinking of Kevin Rudd when I hear you talk naivety.

Face it, you have an either or approach; namely apartheid, or cultural integration, without regard to the special cultural and hence economic burdens (among them the despised 'sit-down money')  borne by blacks.

Both they and you are fumbling along with false narratives.

Fact is: in a modern money-based economy, all need paid work to prosper.

I do object to that, I'm surprised you even suggest it.

You know I limit 'sovereignty' to  law promoting collective welfare and security, most other "rights" (to land etc) are mere selfish desires of individuals or tribes.

Apartheid won't be practicable in Oz.

sometimes you have the wrong narrative (eg we "choose"  to live in poverty, or not.)

My point is: when the voice fails to close the gap, he will be less inclined to accept Albo's rejection of (non-market -based) paid-work-creation schemes, to eradicate welfare dependency.

Don't worry, I have already pointed that out to several polies already; Pat won't be able to ignore it with a clear conscience.

Hopefully I have shown I'm not so naive re polies' tricks/self-delusions.

What middle ground is there?  Such a burden that sit-down money that it is demanded for any discussion.  They can always just say "stuff your sit-down - we're going to work!"
Roll Eyes

Then give them paid work
Roll Eyes

Ah - so the Noble 600,000 Savages won't be handed a voice that influences Parliament and senior government personages of any kind.  That's a relief.

Apartheid will be rejected in Australia even if it means Civil War against government and its pets.

There was no gun taken up until attacks needed to be driven off etc.  If it had been a genocide there'd be none left.

I didn't say they choose to live in poverty - just that they reject anything that will take them out of it because they are holding out for a first class free ride and are prepared to see their children suffer and die to get that.  Entitled you know.  Slight difference.  Governments made mistake after mistake in handing them free rides such as management of national parks and royalties where they get free money for nothing - now the fools in government have only fed their fantasy of the Entitled By Birth Big Free Ride - the Big Rock Candy Mountains just waiting to be taken.

I doubt Dodson's conscience or that of the others seeking to Barilaro a fine seat for life, will be the deciding factor in their moves once this nonsense fails.

You have some good ideas - I think your score on this test was 12.5%... one in eight .... a start... the getting of true wisdom is harder than that.  Your empathy is appreciated, but your approach is failed and has been already several times.

That'll be 'brakemen' not brick men.... on trains .. free ride for hobos .....
