Force 'em into a job and punish 'em like everyone else for refusing it.

But note: "we all have to work" is not really a matter of "force".

Another reason why government is required as ELR (employer of last resort) when the private sector can't ( or fails to) create the necessary jobs.

Lawyers are supporting the constitutional amendment that will generate more business for them.

Well.. we all have to work; another reason why the government needs to act as ELR, when the private sector can't (or fails to) provide the necessary employment.

And the ordinary person affected will have a snowball's chance in hell of even getting a word in.  This is a recipe for disaster and upheaval across this land and 2% cannot rule the other 98%.

OK, you win THAT  argument; nice to see you win  some.....Smiley

BUT - the need for government to act as employer of last resort (ELR) remains, because we all need to work to prosper.

Who makes dysfunctional families dysfunctional?  You? Me? The government?

Sticking to the example of Oz blacks: a functional culture was made dysfunctional by the invasion. Do I have to enlarge on that point for you to understand?

Why aren't ALL Aboriginal families and individuals dysfunctional then?

Because some of them, less than half, have escaped the destructive effects of welfare dependency.

How did they do that?

Some luck involved, eg meeting the right influencer at the right time.

Or having bi-cultural/racial family backgrounds.

Grin You idiot ... spend far too much time on the internet.

What exactly is an "influencer"? ey?  Grin

Some tart or up himself bloke looking for "likes" on a web page?

Bit too modern for people of Aboriginal descent that actually work for a living & get on with life without out their hands out & playing the victim card ... don't you think?

Er...that's not the case in dysfunctional communities mired in destructive generational welfare dependency.

"Influencer" is a new millennial term for doing SFA for money...... sounds about right for this application too.  Grin

I think you would find the use of "mentor" a more realistic descriptor.

And would you believe there are & have been thousands of mentoring programs & mentors put to guiding troublesome Aboriginal youth over the decades.....

why is it they haven't had a major impact on the associated problems?

So an influencer is 'the right associate at the right time".....

So as long as this 'influencer' fits the running narrative in your head, that is the right person for the job?  Another YES person to add to the list?

I'd say it's time to stay well away from social media when you go searching for your life values.... that's where we old bastards are miles in front of you..... we've been around long enough to know when we are being lied to, and when someone is pushing a false value on us, like Albo is doing at this moment.  We also know what a reliable value, such as genuine equal treatment for all as a given in a democracy of equals, is... and no amount of emotional BS can change that.

Remember - I didn't vote for any of them... I Told You So!!

This referendum is going down.....

They refuse to participate in their own salvation... why should they give up the 'free and easy life' of copping free money while living in a shack with fifty others and running their 'traditional' way of life, and getting billions of dollars thrown at them every year just for whining about it?

We need a government with balls that will just say - shape up or the taps are OFF!

BTW - what happened to Albo's KPIs on violence, crime, domestic abuse and neglect, school attendance, substance abuse, and so forth that the 'voice' thing totally depended on before it would even get going?

Just another politician's lie?  Say it - get elected - then just slowly forget about it knowing that only one person on OzPol will even remember.  If statistically there's one here - does anyone out there in Aussieland even remember those promises from Albo and now know what cheating rats he and his party of sheilas are?

Lie to me once and you will never get my vote.
