Sadly, someone said this on Usenet back in the day:
"We frequently have laws in advance of public opinion - if we didn't, we might still have homosexuality as illegal. There is a balance between the rights of the majority and the rights of the minority".
So one minor glitch means the whole box and dice is wide open to the same deal? Gays were tolerated for millennia as long as they keep it to themselves... the fact that one law may have been sort of correct does not mean that all such, made in the absence of meaningful input from the majority and a genuine choice of candidates in a democracy, are.
With mt Warning, for example - not a law.... not a law... but with mt Warning, for example, what is the choice for the voting public? Liberals are the guilty party in handing it over (almost) without any reference to the entire body of stakeholders... Labor will, of course, be much worse in the same situation.
Where is the choice? NOBODY voted for any of this... it was not in the preamble to any election, and now it is not a matter of whether - but of how, when and where... and the choice for the voter is which group will do the least harm to the majority to suit a minority.
You call that a choice? This issue will kill Perrotet ... leaving the even worse Labor to take up the cudgels for the Abos - and cudgels they will be., and a far worse outcome will be the end result until we get rid of both major party groups here and get a government that will work for all of the people.
Power To The people! Plebiscites over any handing over of any part of our national wealth and common wealth.... that will bring into question the vile privatisation of essential services.... and not before time...
