You've got nothing but ideologue waffle.

And your arguments to defend that assertion?

There are plenty of  ideas in my post for you to refute; pick one and have a go at refutation.

"But by all means carry on with your 'anti voice' crusade, if you think 'NO" will achieve something positive."

Sit long enough by the stream throwing a line and one day the body of your enemy will float past..... in that sentence lies your true direction......

A 'NO' vote has no duty to achieve anything positive - it is not being held out as the be-all and end-all of Aboriginal failure (cunning use of words there)... it is a 'YES' vote that must prove it will achieve something positive - and clearly it will not.... a NO vote will ensure, on the other hand, that peace remains or returns to Australia over this non issue of Aboriginal demands..... and will force stupid and narrow-sighted and narrow-gutted governments to seek a much better way in accordance with the law of the land and its requirements for all to be treated equally... and will prevent the approaching civil war (the civil war one side is, and has been, engaged in for ages now)  ....

If you can't see that as a positive, as opposed to chaos and endless disturbance of the democratic process - you are part of the problem and not the solution.

One Law For All!  All Laws For One!!

Well,  one of your more reasonable posts, if we confine ourselves to the Voice referendum.

But of course if we want to close the gap, the nation CAN'T confine itself to mere passing - or not passing - the referendum on the voice.

Whereas a necessary sensible referendum would be on poverty reduction for aboriginals.

[....until the gap is eliminated; after that, poverty reduction in the entire nation is the necessary achievement].

Wow - the Alice hospital strand shows that some gaps will be widening again - because of the behaviour of those who get it all for free.  Hospitals and medical services stall and drop .... more Abos sicken and die... their difference in mortality rate and longevity goes up again... and it's all their own fault, and people are ceasing to give a damn any more.

But don't worry - don't let them think they need to accept some personal responsibility and behave properly - Big Brother will step in and fix it all for them...... give them a voice and give them all jobs that require no work and all will be hunky-dory....

Why not just pay 'em all a full wage for no work as part of the pharken rent or something?

Now, dividie - when are you heading out there to sell your plans to them first hand?  No good talking down to us about it... we already know it's a hoot ... when are you going to put something into action?  What have you done to sell your ideas to Albo and Dutto and such?  Are they on board with it yet?

Why bother with us?  Clearly we know nothing and you can't convert us - so why do you keep trying?

Kaffir!  Heal thyself!!  Or go thine own way out there in the Nong without interfering with anyone else....... or face the consequences.

That's  right: poverty for "free".

Solution: above poverty wages for work.

But your thinking is crippled by your 'personal responsibility' ideology which only captures half the story. Sad.

Because they need to learn personal responsibility, including gainful participation in the economy...which I shouldn't have to tell you.

I've spoken to Pat about Noel's JG epiphany, the idea is on its way to Cabinet...

Admittedly I wonder about ozpolitics, seems to have very few contributors: yet the MMT thread apparently has been read by over 27,000 people, as of today.

That's half the requirement; the other half is the necessary social contract between a nation's government and ALL its citizens.

You're making no headway and have yet to offer one solid action that will actually do something... words are cheap.

No headway with you. Got it.

Remains to be seen what Dodson's revisit of the CDEP  can achieve.

In any case major change such as reform of the monetary system takes time; Master's graduates in MMT should be gaining govt. advisory positions within 5 years, following the initiation of tertiary courses in the economics of sustainable prosperity for the first time, in 2022.

Now that Langton has shot the voice idea down by coming straight out and declaring it as needing to ahve veto powers and control over governments - there will be no CDEP.

Stick to the subject - your solutions to their problems belong in another strand of its own and you need to stop coming up with mother heart ideas and feelings and good ideas and actually state HOW implementation will occur.

How do you propose to get your Abos out there to attend CDEP courses that involve something more than emu dancing and dot painting? They don't want to learn handling tractors and garbage trucks for their communities, and more gifted ones doing electrical apprenticeships and such to aid their communities direct on a government payroll even. They don't want a 9-5 job when they can laze around (they only want a fat government paid job for sit-down on some 'voice' committee' or something).  Just won't happen given that they are now steeped in their Entitlements™ and Right™ to open revolt on the government free ride.

Just once from you - how do you plan to make it happen in reality and outside of a theory bubble?

Modern Monetary THEORY ... one more theory to add to the wood pile ....... when you can come up with some certainties we're all ears.  Meanwhile it's in the wood pile waiting to become kindling, just like gender theory, critical race theory, feminist theory, ethnic oppressor theory and climate change theory and all the other theories doing the rounds that somehow are translated by fools into the only realities.

Has she done that? well, yes, likely the voice won't get up.

But the voice isn't related to CDEP-types schemes, which are needed to create  (non-market) employment for people still steeped in cultural confusion re a h-g    economy.

I can assist your anti-voice crusade by pointing to the economy and employment as a fundamental issues which need to be addressed, to close the gap.

Same way as in the 1977-2004 period when the CDEP was implemented.

Quote:
They don't want to learn handling tractors and garbage trucks for their communities,

Of course they do, but the necessary resources need to be supplied by government.

Here's an interesting article taking a closer look at the CDEP (before it was abolished):

https://aifs.gov.au/sites/default/files/bh%281%29_0.pdf

"Noel Pearson has consistently advocated a less
“passive” and responsibility-based welfare system
over the last 10 years (Sanders, 2008). After noting
that CDEP was based on the “reciprocity princinples” that he advocated as the basis of welfare reform (i.e., locally run by Indigenous organisantions), Pearson (2000) elaborated on this point by indicating that while CDEP in some smaller communities was “very successful”, some projects in larger communities were “not very distinguishable from the dole” (p. 87). He developed this theme by arguing that the CDEP scheme had “not achieved as much as it could have in terms of community development” because it was “administered under
welfarist governance structures” and surrounded by
other programs within the social security system
that were “not based on reciprocity but are located
within the passive welfare paradigm” (Pearson,
2000, p. 88). To fix CDEP, Pearson argued “we need
to reinsert the original goals of reciprocity and
responsibility” into the scheme and “subject other
government programs to similar principles” (Pearson, 2000, p. 88; Sanders, 2008).

We can see where Noel's interest in the JG came from; goal-based education resulting in paid work needed to develop communities, nothing to do with the welfare system.

Quote:
Just once from you - how do you plan to make it happen in reality and outside of a theory bubble?

the same way as the Fraser and Whitlam govts. made it happen (but separate from the welfare system).

Quote:
Modern Monetary THEORY ... one more theory to add to the wood pile .......

Even Chalmers knows neoclassical government-debt orthodoxy is nonsense (like the periodic bun-fight over lifting the 'debt-ceiling' in the US - all political theatre).   He just doesn't want to tell the public - it's easier to hide behind the orthodox nonsense, to shield him from owning up to his own policy failures.

Well - what do you reckon a clear statement that 'they want' it to have the power to force government to listen and then to accept their advice or else?

Not a shot to the heart of the ridiculous voice?  You know - that advisory body only that would never have any power or be a separate parliament etc?

Still going to vote for it?  That's the real question here now.... will you still vote for it under those conditions of stifling Parliamentary democracy here?

The only thing 'original' about Australia,
is the Aborigine.
Everything else has been stolen from overseas,
by a bunch of white thieves.

Nobody has ever migrated to Australia to be like an Aborigine.

Everybody came only for what the Brits and Europeans have created.
