He dodged a bullet and he will not oine up for a second shot at him.

You can't be a Plaintiff in a civil action and NOT GET IN THE BOX TO GIVE EVIDENCE IN SUPPORT OF YOUR CLAIM.

The very last thing he wants is to be anywhere near that witness box, even though his very freedom might well have depended on him doing so. He was willing to risk, and did risk, a conviction and imprisonment rather than face the music.

You can stop strutting around the place Lisa Jones. The decision not to proceed has SFA to do with any lack of evidence or commitment of the Prosecutor.

He simply was not willing to risk the life of Higgins in pursuing Lehrmann. She is in Hospital as I type as a result of all this, and he was just not willing to put her life in any further jeopardy, to the extent that he could mitigate that existential and real potential.

What would you do if you were a Prosecutor? Run a Trial and see the alleged victim perish as a result?

If I was Lehrmann, I'd buy lottery tickets every day of my existence for as long as that is.

Why? Because each milestone will give him an opportunity to re iterate the severity of his damages claim.

1. You should read my posts more carefully Aussie. You conveniently skim past the key bits which don't make you look good and I'm sick of it!

2. The DPP stuffed up from the get go. HE ( and those pathetic wanna be publicity hangers on) are to blame for where Brittany is at today! The DPP SHOULD have been able to foresee the circus in its initial assessment but it didn't. Why? They USED Brittany as an opportunity for themselves!

3. Which brings me to you Aussie. The fact that you yourself couldn't see where this trial was going from day 1 proved to me immediately something about you: you have no idea about women AND court.

4. Stop assuming (and you bloody well are doing this on a veiled basis too) that I'm some Bruce supporter! I'm tired of saying I'm not!

5. I know I disagree with you a lot (and that can get annoying for you) but sometimes Aussie even you (a lawyer who is old enough to be my dad's age) needs to be ready to eat humble pie.

Hmmm - I recall Lehrmann went to hospital too.... stress, you know....with the lack of hard evidence clearly any further trial would be a trial for Young Brittany .... but it is convenient.

Make a good part of the book....

- oh, dear... we'll just have to change the laws so not only are Abos special children in a court, but women as well... make it a proper shemozzle even more than it currently is.... just set in stone the already preferential treatment given to some under law and make it just an arbitrary thing along lines of race and sexand social position and even Postcode ... that'll really help the Decline Of the West along....

As Pamela Stephenson said, when told that often a dying Hindu would have a few drops of the sacred Ganges placed on his lips.... "Well - that'll certainly help things along!".... I suppose a few drops of this social science water on the lips will help the death of the West along nicely ....

I dunno - if he feels as strongly about his innocence as Ms Higgins felt about his guilt - he would face a court and tell his story... and put her through that again, no?

I haven't presumed guilt or innocence here - but I will not be guided by prejudice or victim affirmation ..... I require proof on reliable hard facts.... not just opinions...

Anyway - The Guv might quietly slip him a few large to send him on his way and retain the silence... does Young Brittany have a claim in for job-related etc for compensation?
