Fat, white, old men still defending alleged rapists rather than taking the word of the woman.

The woman is always lying, and the man is always the victim.

Would it be the same if it was their daughter?

Not this same lunatic ranting spam again! Groggy lay off the drugs!

Unlike you bozo some of us really do have daughters AND sons! I would not want MY son going to prison on the say so of a woman who was too drunk to know WTF happened to her!

No matter how drunk a woman gets, it's not an invitation for rape.

Pretty sad that this needs to be said   Roll Eyes

It's pretty lame that YOU think it needs to be said.

We've all moved on from that basic point. And we all did that when the topic STARTED ffs!

All except you - you're the one who just mentioned it.
Dear oh dear   Roll Eyes

Oi Gweggy/Bwian

1. Where's your Tsk tsk ??

2. Read back moron! YOU mentioned it (for some stupid reason). I immediately jumped on that remark to inform you that it's such a basic and regarded fact that it doesn't need to be mentioned (over and over again).

3. You must seriously be drunk yourself right now if you don't get the issue that's bugging everyone here on OzPol AND there with the Jury ie lack of evidence. ALL we have is this : DOUBT.

4. The fact that the jury is taking so long to deliver its verdict indicates better chances for the defendant. Not Brittany!

Note : IRRESPECTIVE of the outcome I trust that we will ALL be mature enough to accept the verdict gracefully and to move on as forum members.

If anything we would do well to be mindful of this reality : these court proceedings have been one of the most stressful and intimidating events in someone's life. Thank God it wasn't yours or mine.

Cheers.

Absolute rubbish.

Aussie ... if Brittany loses this case ... what are you going to do?

Carry on like an idiot? I hope not!

I'll say that a guilty man walked free.  Nothing unusual about that.

I wouldn't want to call this one.

From what I've read, I honestly can't tell if he's guilty or not.

I just hope the right decision - whatever that may be - is made.

Not sure what's worse: a guilty man walking free, or an innocent man going to prison.

Probably the latter.

They are obliged to 'assess the likelihood of a (successful) prosecution.'

Nemo walks out of the bank with a pussy.... Aussie holds him up at gunpoint and uses the pussy unlawfully then departs... the pussy is still in possession of Nemo ... there is no sign of any misuse....

So on the verbal evidence alone of Nemo did any abuse of that pussy take place and it was not stolen.

There is a functional difference between a pussy and a fistful of dollars... even if Aussie had held Nemo up at gunpoint and demanded his dollars, then left without them, he would be charged with assault... maybe attempted robber.. since no robbery took place.

A Blackfella walks into a National Park without any title documents...... BS - you'll never see a Blackfella walking in a national park... too easy in town...

It is better that ten guilty men walk free than that one innocent man hang....

... and in modern times the idea is to put it to a jury regardless and hope for some outcome..... from which nobody will be satisfied... that was a policy decision made to do another end run round Law.... ans was bowing down to the howling of the mob and not to reason and facts as required by Law.

Meanwhile in Realityland Farfaraway from the internal theft of legal and civil rights by regulation and policy within the public service and the halls of government .......

"Jury deliberations continue in Bruce Lehrmann’s trial for alleged rape of Brittany Higgins
The jury informed the judge on Tuesday that they are unable to reach a decision in Bruce Lehrmann’s trial after the fourth day of deliberations. The former political staffer pleaded not guilty to allegations of rape of then-colleague Brittany Higgins in Parliament House. The Chief Magistrate requested jurors re-examine points in disagreement to reach a unanimous verdict, according to 9 News."

That's why it's called Realityland Farfaraway, Don-kay .... because reality is a land far far AWAY!  NO - we are not there yet.......

Well the ACT DPP clearly got it right. The case is not open-and-shut. There is a reasonable enough chance of conviction.

Anyway, Aussie - your idea is moot because you have no way of knowing for certain that
Britanny's purse was burgled... if you are the police, you can only investigate....

You presume way too much .... obviously you want this guy to be guilty.

If I can believe Higgins over Lehrmann, and I do, her purse was burgled by Lehrmann.  She says it was under oath, he made NO denial under oath.

He also gave three/four entirely different reasons why his hand was in or anywhere near the her purse.

The jury have found that they cannot come to a unanimous decision on the accused rape charge so that should be the end of it, how many times can the judge order them back to reconsider their verdict.

I cannot see how, after holding a position for five days, anyone is going to change their mind 180 degrees now.

Hung Jury.  Jury discharged.

Crown considers whether to go again, I believe they would and Round Two will commence in some months time.

Brittany's team is well enough financed for another crack with the media backing.

That'd be 180 degrees!
