Jury in rape trial of Bruce Lehrmann discharged after trial is aborted over juror misconductlp

Really?   ^^^^^   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I omitted to add that the DPP will consider whether to go ahead, but I will be stunned if they do not.

Also, contrary to previously, Lehrmann is now on bail conditions....which is a bit of an indication about what the Judge reckons.

What a feast for all the lawyers?
A retrial so they get double paid -
maybe they could even go for a 3rd trial -
then an appeal -
then a high court challenge -
all over an alleged root.

I can almost hear the cash registers ringing.   Grin

Whoever is advising Higgins is an idiot.  She does herself no good whatsoever talking to the schmedia as she just has done.

Of course. Egged on by those who have coopted her case to the cause of venting their own baggage-rage.

I saw it on ABC 24.

She outlined how it was her on trial and not the accused.
He could just sit there and say nothing.
She even had to show a lot of her
private emails and phone call, messaging information.
She was cross examined for 1 week.
To her it seems unfair.

FFS WHAT NEXT?

ABC NEWS:
The jury in the rape trial of Bruce Lehrmann has been discharged without a verdict after a juror admitted to accessing information that was not presented as evidence in court.

What does that mean, 'unfair'?

She made a police complaint about a crime committed. She is the only witness.

How is it unfair that she provides all her evidence and faces cross-examination?

Did she think it was going to be wrapped in an hour like a TV police drama?

Why do you think?

To go as far as she could (or was asked to) to demonstrate to the court that she was not falsifying evidence or conspiring to egg-up the evidence.

Given a senior politician tried to crowbar her way into Higgins' testimony, it's more than appropriate she demonstrates she is not being coached.

Higgins 'When I did speak up, I never fully understood our asymmetrical criminal justice system but I do now.'

What a hide.

Who went to the media? Who flaunted her story to all Australians and the world? Who destroyed evidence?
