Yeah good, there is no way 12 out of 12 jurors are going to put away a bloke for 20 plus years on no evedence, there was always going to be a Mothra Aussie type prepared to convict no matter what.

That's why they are removed from juries ..... left out before trial... there is a pool of potential jurors and you are asked a few questions... I wimped out of jury duty because I said I'd just been tested deaf and hadn't yet got hearing aids and I might not hear everything.  Old digger mate said he'd hang 'em all .... NEXT!!!

They are not always removed and what questions by whom determine that, what prejudices apply.

The jury was hung and my bet is that at least 10 of the 12 voted not to convict because of 1st no evidence and 2nd Brittany is a "lying cow".

Are you a convicted rapist?

Just asking.

Your ilk convict on political agenda.

Just watching a Spanish film during their Civil War that addresses that... no,no,no, no... we're the good guys - we allow prisoners to confess before they die.... those Republicans.. atheists.. they don't!

Starting a book called "Degenerations of Democracy" ...... how democracy has degenerated, though it has ups and downs... moments of progress where you can almost see the high water mark where the tide of freedom reached only to fall back.... and then the tide to turn since 1975... interesting... discusses underpinnings of democracy such as 'collective identity' of the body politic, which appears to fly in the face of multi-culturalism with its loss of identity for a democracy...

Lot of hard reading there.... I'll get back to you shortly.......

Listen to your collective identity, Tommy ... I'm begging you... listen to your collective identity.....

I don't have one...........

Something Higgins will have come to realise, as all those who yield to media pressure and 'speak out' is that, once you do, by weaponising national media, your cause and your case are no longer your own.

Hard on the heels of 'friendly' media comes oppositional media with their spin then, when that adversarial train has left the station, the public climb on board for the ride - as the judge, the jury, the prosecution/defence teams, the armchair experts and the rusted-ons to one side or the other in equal measure.

There's a reason why Martin Luther King Jr and the civil rights movement took so long to find Rosa Parks to highlight the cause of anti-segregation.

The butler did it.

Exactly!

👆 That comment right there nails the reality of this tragic case! And it's exactly why the matter is going nowhere. We knew from the get go that the evidence just wasn't there.

No jury will find evidence now... years after the alleged event. In fact that's probably why the last jury brought in Googled material. See what happens when 12 people are stuck in a room for days with no evidence to work with? Well ... now we know! They start bringing in stuff like googled material, unfinished novels and (no doubt) their knitting ffs!

I agree that there should be a higher standard required of anyone sitting on a jury.

Some here have accused all men of acquitting men etc.. which is nonsense of the first water since men have always convicted men and done often terrible things to them in cases of rape.

On the other hand you see clearly here those who are going to find guilt regardless, and base that on any flimsy evidence.... one at least here hasn't even bothered with that but just said "he's a man - he's guilty."

Usual Suspect...

Touchy, touchy.... no, Aussie you are condemned for making a sharp decision based on the absolute minimum evidence, as if you are an active supporter and proponent of the idea that 'women should be believed unconditionally' - thus destroying one of the underpinnings of Western Law....

There is in existence, however, at least one other who was at that position before a word was spoken to the court..................  *chucks aussie's cheek*

There were no flies on the wall, though some would like to imagine they were such .... it's called presumption, prejudice, assumption and bloody-mindedness....

If there was any substantial evidence that sex had taken place..... it was a foreskin conclusion under ACT law as it stood and stands.  Thou shalt not shag a drunken woman!

Good to see some are getting in touch with this Cause in this case.... part of The Agenda...... part of the Great Socialist Revolution .... part of the feminist push for absolute control and power..... madness.. madness... madness on all sides, Woody!

Watch this space for Labor snaking in the grass about this..... just like this silly Voice idea, once it fails the gloves will be off.....Labor is already there with this 'friend' of Young Brittany's... this 'commissioner' for victims...... the feminist Labor is already there fueling the pumps...... spreading the love that the guy is guilty without trial......

You are warned.... I told you all so........... they are your children and grand-children and future generations...... it is their futures you are staking on the righteousness of this Cause™ and all other Causes™........ your sons and your daughters...... when a part of Europe falls off, the entire continent is the less.....when a Right is lost... steadily it is lost to all...... and down goes all before..... and after..........

Anyway - no matter how hard Labor hiding behind skirts tries - there will be NO conviction on accusation and no woman will be handed preference in belief of story.... prove your case or don't bother wasting public time and money.

Sounds, from a few responses here, that we need a jury poll approach - where every juror is asked WHY they found the defendant guilty or not guilty.
