So, Narragunnawali is from the language of the Ngunnawal people of Canberra and defines them.

For a long time Anēwan was regarded as unable to fit into the known Australian patterns of language. The seeming irregularity was caused by initial consonant loss in over 100 cognate terms between Anēwan and other languages and dialects of the region. The Ng is often silent.
