78-year-old Elizabeth Jean Carroll's lawyer filed the legal papers electronically as the Adult Survivor's Act temporarily lifted the state's deadlines for suing over sexual assault. She is seeking unspecified compensatory and punitive damages for pain and suffering, psychological harms, dignity loss and reputation damage.
Previously, Carroll had been barred by state law from suing over the alleged rape because too many years had passed since it happened. New York's new law now gives sex crime victims who missed statute of limitations deadlines a second chance to file a lawsuit.

Yes. Two possibilities: 1) perjury 2) failure to pay damages In a civil case, both of those things could see the alleged child rapist put behind bars. Gordy, for some reason, doesn't understand that fact. Not at all. Gordon has just told us all how the civil courts have what is cunningly called, a "burden of proof." Gordon knows E.J Carroll has already pased the evidentary bar to proceed. Gordon knows the 45th prez has already admitted to the key facts of the case. Gordon knows how hard E Jean Carroll has fought to have her day in court, rejecting all settlement offers, reputedly in the tens of millions. Gordon's just developed a fascination for the subject of civil law, as you do. Gordon's no Trump supporter. He's our new resident legal eagle, no? No charges of improper sexual activity against you eh, Karnal? All the little (of legal age) rent boys you bugger in Thailand are all consensual financial transactions, paid for with your hard earned Australian dollah, 5 Thai Baht each. What's that, 5 rent boys to the AUD? Hard to say, Gordon. Might one ask how you're familiar with the price of Thai rent boys or would you prefer not to say? I note you've gone rather quiet on the subject of your Dear Leader. Might one ask why that is? Where's your dirty sex tour to this year, ya dirty old man? Don't want to say, eh? We'll try this as a multiple choice. You, Gordon, would prefer to discuss male prostitution to your Dear Leader because: A. You like a bit of rough and tumble. B. You've always wanted to explore your predilection for young male action, not that there's anything wrong with that. C. You're hurt. And that's okay. D. You're trying to divert the subject from the crimes of your Dear Leader. E. All of the above.
