The Chinese allowed their students (some of whom were infected) to continue/start their studies in Australia, despite China being in the grips of a pandemic. My own theory is that China let the virus spread through China to kill off the elderly. Chinese authorities only made a half-hearted effort to contain the coronavirus.

The Australian government is not spending one-third of a trillion dollars on submarines as a consequence of panicking over the sniffles virus getting to Australia. It is obvious that Australia is gearing up for some kind of offensive we might see in the 2030s.

I disagree with the "One China" policy. China can simply work with Taiwan and Hong Kong as separate entities and not engage in hostilities. Otherwise, if there is an escalation in tensions in the region, either you are going to sign up for the military. Or you can get your children to go to war for you.
