The rest is paywalled. Anyone know what is going on?

"A federal government department ordered Walkley Award-winning cartoonist Mark Knight to take down a Herald Sun cartoon of Uluru and demanded he apply for a permit to draw the rock."

https://twitter.com/RoadknightThe/status/1599177604007104513

So it doesn't matter how accurate a drawing is just say it is Uluru.

How about a caricature of Uluru? Would that need a permit as well? Roll Eyes

Which federal government department ordered the take down?

Will we see an attack on the Sun Herald with "terrorist" spears thrown at cartoonists?

I have had a look for some other sources but the only reference I can find is the paywalled Herald Sun article.  Seems an interesting topic for debate here. Anyone got anything?

Don't see how the gov has any right to ask this?

Don't like the cartoon at all but no way they don't have the right to print it.

Bad taste would make taking it down a good idea if they were to make that decision but not because of anything the gov has to say.

Why would they think that is Ayres rock - it looks nothing like it. Surely he can draw better than that ?

Yes, I suspect it will.

Well if they can ban Trump from the Media/Twitter/etc from running for President.
I'm sure they can do whatever they bloody like here.

It was reasonable for a twitter ban in response to using Twitter to stage an insurrection that got people killed.

As the instigator of an insurrection Trump should be barred from holding any public office in the future under the terms of the constitutions 14th amendment.

It was an uprising against a tyrannical Swamp, and the citizens are allowed to do that according to their Declaration of Independence ... it's a pity that every citizen in the US didn't join them, the traitorous DemSwamp needs to be brought to heel before they destroy the United States completely

Here you go, guys - the paywalled Herald Sun article.

I'll have to do this in 3 parts.

It should be readable.

Part 3 which is the images in the article (couldn't include them in the above screenshots because they were WAY too large to read the text in the article by the time I reduced it below the 250 KB attachment size).

So now we need permission from Aborigines to draw a picture of Ayer's Rock?
