Ordered something from Amazon on November 6th.

Was supposed to arrive today (December 5th).

When it didn't turn up I logged in to Amazon to find out what's going on and saw this when I checked the Australia Post Tracking ID.



Hint: I live in Rivervale which is only a couple of km's from Welshpool.

i dont think you have the right to complain 

didnt you want health to come before the economy.

or doesnt that apply for the dozens of workers who sacrificed to get you your "stuff" to your "safe space"

Australia Post's service is many times more reliable than Amazon's.

I have used both (Amazon for US purchases). Amazon usually sources the cheapest carrier usually with the highest number of cockups and the largest number of excuses for them. The usual one is: driver arrived but no one available to receive package. Returned to collection point.

Of course there was someone available. The driver couldn't be c~nted delivering the package.

The collection point is always some obscure warehouse in a semi-industrial part of town and is not used to customers looking for a single package when they go on the hunt for them.

The there's the 'Driver called the number provided but could not contact the receiver of the package'.

No, they didn't call and the number I provided them on the order form was correct.

No, they can't leave it at the local post office, it has to be some gas station or backyard office of a warehouse.

No, I can't contact the driver to ensure he will be arriving, that information is 'private', apparently.

The only thing worse than Amazon's service is purchasing something from China and actually have it arrive in Australia at all.

Still waiting for my delivery from Amazon via Australia Post.

It's actually an office chair for sitting at my computer desk, I'm using a small, cheap ($8) fold up one from Bunnings while I'm waiting. It's not too bad but it doesn't have casters and doesn't swivel so I can't move around easily while I'm sitting on it.

I would have kept the old office chair for a few weeks longer if I'd known, I threw it out in anticipation of the new one arriving a week or two after I ordered it (which was November 6th).

It's also a bit concerning that it's going to take NASA's first Artemis test flight less time to go to the Moon and back (including 6 days orbiting the Moon) than it's taking for my chair to arrive at my home in Perth from the other side of Australia. It's made 2 trips across Australia already and I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up back in Melbourne again by next week. 

Hmm, maybe I should have a look at NASA TV online, I've seen live streams from the inside of the Artemis capsule... maybe my chair went along for the ride? 

(Next time I need a chair I'll just go to somewhere like Officeworks, might cost a bit more but at least I'll have it the same day that I buy it.

OMG you can say that again! It must come via Tiger Moth with the parcel clasped between their teeth!
I ordered these little mini flat plastic travel bottles to fill for lighter travels… for $11 ordered May… comes June, July, still nothing!
The guy says to wait it will arrive!
But August I wrote its nowhere… then he sends another one in its place… I’m thinking oh no here we go again! I was polite the whole time (just a small package $11 so I was willing to give up on it)
So August I get sent it… and I only just received it last week!
I did write I hoped he was honest.
Then it arrived I nearly fell over!
I wrote as courtesy to tell them it arrived!
This was the almost the worst!

The worst for postage is Italy!
20 years ago my daughter left her digi cam behind and cousin posted it to us.
Months go by and nothing.
Then some shipping container full of stuff fell off boat and was beached!
Hubby jokingly says “there’s the camera!”
I not laugh 

I enquired at our local post office… and get told this… the old joke is if you want something sent from Italy to arrive… post it from Switzerland!
And further… get told when Italian postal workers went on strike for 6 months…. Going back to work they looked at all the huge mountain of postage and asked “what are we going to do with all this?”
And burnt it in a bonfire!
Surely not?!
Oh God no… when will this camera arrive?
4 months and it did arrive!
But the anxiety!

I don't know what's causing the delay with my chair other than the fact that it seems to be on an Australian "tour" at the moment, haven't seen Covid mentioned so far.

But, what annoys me is that we're now being told that Covid is supposed to be over but it's still being used as excuse for delays with deliveries, etc.

Of course the truth is that Covid isn't over and it is still a reason for delays except this time it's not "restrictions" and lockdowns causing them it's workers being sick with Covid all the time.

Oh, and I really only started this thread for a bit of fun.
