Typical comment coming from a
complete lack of understanding of the circumstances of
welfare-dependent people living in the town camps around Alice Springs.
Access to education requires access to clean, safe housing.
Quote:Sounds to me like it's more the culture coming out... they don't want to do those things - as the 'chief minister' up there even alluded to in saying that the communities themselves had to co-operate in saving themselves...
Waffle. People need access to safe, clean housing, education and jobs, which don't exist in the town camps around the Alice. Co-operation with a dysfunctional economic system which itself is a cause of the welfare dependency is pointless.
Quote:She needs to go further - and do what Albo said at the start when he was spruiking up some 'voice' - and say that any such things needed to be based on key performance indicators of advances within those communities - a position quietly dropped once he actually got the hot seat and never mentioned since.
You can't have 'performance indicators' in 4th world camps, without creating the jobs and decent housing first.
Quote:No KPIs - no money!! And No Voice until you prove yourselves responsible citizens.
People can't report on KPIs when they are living in 4th world conditions.
[quote]In other words - No Voice Ever!! [quote]
Better yet: no welfare dependency, ever.
