WA- Almost one year without a 40șC day
Feb 4th, 2023 at 12:43pm

"Perth has been almost a whole year without a 40C day.

And, although the metro area is about to enter a low-intensity heatwave, there are still none on the horizon.

If the city makes it to February 5 without reaching the milestone, it will mark an entire year since it was 40C. It’s a massive change from last year when in the same period the metro area endured 13 40C-plus days.

“The temperatures this year are nothing out of the ordinary,” Bureau of Meteorology duty forecaster Jessica Lingard said.

“This is what summer is supposed to feel like. It was last year that was the anomaly.” "

Summers without a 40șC day in Perth are the anomaly. Roll Eyes

This last couple of years have been a bit inconvenient for the Climate Cultists, what with the cooler summers, the Great Barrier Reef regenerating, the BOM being investigated for falsifying its records....

That's weather, not climate.

Amazing that some people still don't understand the difference.

Could it be the mini ice age that David DuByne predicted?

It was terribly cold in Melbourne in the last 2 days -
it even snowed in the high country - not far away.

Was supposed to have been 39 degrees in Perth today.

The Bureau of Meteorology have updated their forecast twice since the regular 4:40am one.

The latest update was at 11:06am and they're now forecasting 37 degrees.

http://www.bom.gov.au/wa/forecasts/perth.shtml

With all of the cloud around this morning (which now seems to be slowly clearing) I didn't think it would even make it to 37.

32 degrees at the moment (12:12pm).

It's a weird day - didn't think it would reach 39 when I got up at 4am.

Very grey/cloudy and windy at 7am.

Just went outside to pick some Rosemary for lunch, and it's getting warm now - 32.9

Will probably make 37 by 3pm.

We usually get two to four 40 degree days at the end of February   Cry

And here we have the bluster of the Climate Cultists when the error of their ways is pointed out. Funny how a few hot days are a harbinger of doom, but a prolonged cold spell is just 'weather'. Roll Eyes

I'm not a "Climate Cultist", whatever the hell that is.

You've never ever seen a post from me promoting AGW or anything similar.

As an outsider to this argument, I'm merely stating a simple fact: you're talking about weather, not climate.

They aren't the same thing.  Surely you know that.

I'm glad it's global cooling and not global warming, i can't handle heat, Adelaide had it's coldest spring in 30yrs, southern SA has only had a couple of hot days with no 40's and with no extreme weather forcast for the next week that only leaves 2 weeks of summer left, it's pretty cool where i am in SA today and i had to put a short sleeve jumper on and that's a 1st here for this time of year, it's probably just a lull because the amount of crap we have put into the atmosphere over the last 250yrs can't be good. A couple of big volcanoes now and we will be extinct.

I would have said the same about Rockhampton. But, I found a 40.7 degree day in March last year. A few 39 degree days as well. Still, I would call it a mild summer.

I would hate to be in Perth when the radioactive fallout gets blown in by some Doctor.

Surely you know the World Meteorological Organisation says climate is merely the average of 30 years weather? Roll Eyes

Although technically climate is merely the variation that can be weekly monthly yearly etc.

Came home about an hour ago.

Now I'm sitting right in front of the airconditioner while I'm posting here.  Cool

Isn't the southern part of Western Australia really part of South Africa?
