Storing food

I was getting peeved with berries that lasted less than a week in the fridge before they worsened.

Realising I was in a no-lose situation I put some berries in an airtight container in the fridge. Oxygen can age goods badly.
The berries lasted perfectly well.

Mushrooms, silverbeet, grapes, everything I have put in a sealed container in the fridge has lasted perfectly well for much longer then usual.

The locusts (and me) in my house has nearly finished them.

Soft foods such as berries can be an issue though, so the sealer needs a "pulse" mode for the vacuum pump in order to avoid crushing soft stuff. This is our unit... And don't buy an el cheapo... their vacuum pumps suck. Uh....?
