However as can be seen by the comments these points are lost on some people. I think it's too late to have any meaningful law change in the US. If regular school shootings don't get people wanting change then I don't think anything will.

If you truly believe than you should be reduced to communicating with quill pen and ink well. We should own weapons equivalent to the modern military for the safety of the general citizenry. The rifles the British used fired one or two rounds a minute in 1776, as they increase firepower we need to keep up.
