Well....in China the matter was settled by a civil war; interestingly, the population now register 90% support for the CCP government (according to a recent Harvard poll).

After slaughtering their way across the country and gaining power, the CCP slaughtered wealthy traders, farmers etc. Because, being communist, they knew better how to grow and distribute food, and rich people were the natural enemy, like Jews are to the Nazis and Muslims. They then starved 50 million Chinese people to death in their efforts to distribute food equally.

Apparently, killing people in the millions until they stop criticising you is how you build consensus.

The CCP learnt a valuable lesson from this - how to lie to Chinese people and get away with it. Throughout the Great Chinese famine, the CCP pumped out propaganda about how destitute the Americans and other western nations were, and how much more prosperous the Chinese are. The Chinese people were fed a steady diet of locusts and hot air. To this day, the CCP still pumps out almost identical propaganda. It makes the little pinks come across as deranged lunatics.

Are the Chinese people stupid enough to believe it?

Communism, which is socialism perfected, always requires a military/police state dictatorship to maintain the power structure, because the people cannot be trusted to vote the right way. This has been the case in the USSR, Warsaw Pact, China, N Korea, Cuba, Cambodia, Vietnam, Yugoslavia, and the puny attempts elsewhere like South America, and soon to be, the Myanmar Peoples Republic. And Leftests in Australia sympathise.

Er.... how about a more balanced view of history?

Marx observed the ruination of children forced to work in underground coal mines when the Industrial Revolution was gaining steam (excuse the pun) ...and he thought about it for a while, and suggested some solutions....

Well, workers' protests against the outrages of the Industrial Revolution didn't change anything during their lifetimes; millions died in wars and entrenched poverty.

After observing  the storming of  the US capitol, Chinese people are more confident in their system than ever.

What claim is that? That Marx is considered to be one of the greatest thinkers of all time?

https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/marx/

"Karl Marx (1818–1883) is often treated as a revolutionary, an activist rather than a philosopher, whose works inspired the foundation of many communist regimes in the twentieth century. It is certainly hard to find many thinkers who can be said to have had comparable influence in the creation of the modern world. However, Marx was trained as a philosopher, and although often portrayed as moving away from philosophy in his mid-twenties—perhaps towards history and the social sciences—there are many points of contact with modern philosophical debates throughout his writings.

edit: oh... the claim Chinese are satisfied with the CCP government; here:

https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2020/07/long-term-survey-reveals-chinese-...

Ash Center Communications

DATE: July 9, 2020

Understanding what Chinese citizens think about their own government has proven elusive to scholars, policymakers, and businesspeople alike outside of the country. Opinion polling in China is heavily scrutinized by the government, with foreign polling firms prohibited from directly conducting surveys.

Given China’s global rise in the economic, military, and diplomatic spheres, understanding public opinion there has arguably never been more important.

A new study from the Ash Center fills in this gap for the first time, providing a long-term view of how Chinese citizens view their government at the national, as well as the regional and local levels. What started as an exercise in building a set of teaching tools for an executive education class eventually transformed into the longest academic survey of Chinese public opinion conducted by a research institution outside of China.

“Gathering reliable, long-term opinion survey data from across the country is a real obstacle,” said Ash Center China Programs Director Edward Cunningham. “Rigorous and objective opinion polling is something that we take for granted in the U.S.”

While important work in this area has been accomplished by previous scholars — and their work shaped the analysis of the survey data collected — those other surveys were often short-term or infrequent.
[b]
The survey team found that compared to public opinion patterns in the U.S., in China there was very high satisfaction with the central government. In 2016, the last year the survey was conducted, 95.5 percent of respondents were either “relatively satisfied” or “highly satisfied” with Beijing. In contrast to these findings, Gallup reported in January of this year that their latest polling on U.S. citizen satisfaction with the American federal government revealed only 38 percent of respondents were satisfied with the federal government.

Like I said, since then we have seen US deplorables storming the US Capitol.

No they’re just not allowed to say anything against the regime esp if they value their life and the life of their family.

Notice how FD, in his inimitable fraudulent manner, opens a thread entitled:

"Re: little pinks: war = consensus".

All because he lost the argument that 2-way communication between community agents and the local governing council is a form of grass-roots democracy in action.

FD, up there with Lisa for slippery, fraudulent (when not  just plain dumb) ideology.

Of course; we are all instinctively greedy, some of us - especially the RW - blindly so.

That's why the history of the world has been a sorry tale of endless wars, class warfare, and entrenched poverty amidst vast wealth, as governments have failed to harness that greed for the common welfare.

That's where socialism - as theorized by Marx and others - comes in: managing the submission of individual greed, to achieve  the common welfare, via rule of law rather than the chaos of adversarial elections.

Quote:

Indeed, achieving orderly, constructive, political and economic relations on this planet is difficult, given the power of individual instinct which chafes at rule of law.

But men have the capacity to think (cortex brain), as well as being driven by prehistoric instincts still present in the reptilian brain (basal ganglia).

So it's reasonable to be optimistic we can still save ourselves from the  madness of a nuclear arms race  amid ongoing endless wars, while discovering how to eradicate poverty and disadvantage from the face of our beautiful planet.
