The company – Trump Media, which owns Trump’s Truth Social platform – initially came under criminal investigation over its preparations for a potential merger with a blank check company called Digital World (DWAC) that was also the subject of an earlier investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Towards the end of last year, federal prosecutors started examining two loans totaling $8m wired to Trump Media, through the Caribbean, from two obscure entities that both appear to be controlled in part by the relation of an ally of Russian president Vladimir Putin, the sources said.

Whether you're a fan of his or not, you must admit that simple fact: everything he touches/attempts fails/breaks.

There's not one thing in his life that he's attempted that he didn't fail at.

Midas spelt backwards.

But anyway, it's not like anyone is gonna be surprised that Trump is involved in laundering money with the Russians.

It's almost happened or happened a few times in Australia. We are pretty good at it.

That's when we are not allowing them to be used to launder crime money - heck likely even when they are running at a loss.

One example not including the high profile Australian business family was that a non casino related company took over a major casino group. Over the following few years they were making a loss. What happened was that foreign high rollers were allowed to come in and clean them out. They de invested the casino in short order, they simply lacked the expertise.
